The censorship is the point. You imagine some slavish devotion to Puritan morals corrupting the industry, but in reality that’s nothing but a ghost, a phantom. They censor for the sake of censorship itself, knowing full well that the vocal minority that actually cares will proceed to go out and loudly market what they’re ACTUALLY selling, which is, in a word controversy. Outrage is the commodity of our times, and business is booming.

Eh, with a 10 dollar movie you can use negative publicity because some people (like me) want to see just how bad something actually is. All you end up losing is a few hours. A video game is 5-10x more investment on both those factors, so it happens way less.

Well unless it's a Steam game. Those can be cheap enough to justify "so bad it's good" and often the makers don't have the skill to make something that last for more than an hour.

There are far less people who won’t buy it because of the censorship than there are people who don’t care about the censorship and people who don’t even care about the game but will buy it and post about loving it and how the censorship actually improved it just to spite the people crying about censorship because they think the things you care about are dumb

IIRC the author has said in interviews he didnt actually have the time to finish the game so the late game is rushed and the themes he was going for with the character yuno didnt really get represented properly in the game itself, but I just gotta ask the question... what kinda themes can daughter fucking really come with???? Guess we’ll never know cause he died.

On the bold: a friend of mine recently finished playing the game and brought this up with me, and having played through the remake (and finished binge watching the anime) and we both did come to this thought, so learning this trivia just confirms that there was clearly a lot cut out of the game/story and more was rushed towards the latter half.

I'm not sure what's the main theme that we are meant to be taking away from the game as a whole (I guess you can glean a theme from some of the individual routes on their own, maybe?) but in a lot of ways, it does leave a lot of the game as being this incomplete routes coming together into a really half backed sci-fi eroge.

Yeah the sociopathic horniness can really get to you. this authors MC are always super horny to the point of ignoring human decency. For example the MC in Desire triggers an unavoidable NTR plotline because he goes and fucks his gfs coworker when she was waiting for him in lingerie with champagne an shit. Of course cheating on your longtime gf is not on the same level of what the fuck are you doing mc-kun as fucking the girl you watched your elf waifu give birth to and raised yourself, but it gives some perspective.

oh and make no mistake. YU-NO guy is not JUST a daughter fucker. Hes many things, INCLUDING daughter fucker. Another thing he is, is mommy fucker (although not blood related). In fact most of the game the mom feels like the main heroine.

I too would prefer the uncensored version, but my point is that the one they're giving us isn't immediately worthless because of it. I can understand people hesitating on buying a game because of those changes, but it seems a bit strange to me that they were excited enough about the game to pre-order it five (?) months in advance, but the minute they hear there's no tits in it they rage and demand a refund. It's four costumes out of 70-ish and the wallpaper in a dungeon. The other fifty hours of the game are the same. Including the pedo furry music video.

It's not about how much or how little was cut. It's about the principle. The year is almost 2020, the age of hiding boobies or racy jokes to protect the kiddies died ten years ago, $team has fucking porn games on it, get with the times Nippon.
