Hehe. With all the preloads and discs out. It'll be released. Just a question of how much of a buggy mess it'll be after the huge day 1 patch.

Benchmarks of the not quite release build is apparently glitchy and more like 30fps at their recommended specs.

I made peace with the fact that my PC can't run it, and am looking into snagging the recently released Wingman instead (a Western-made Ace Combat clone, by all accounts).
Then I see the "fully VR compatible" label and I sigh some more.

I wouldn't say it's bad so much as many of the best games are for some reason locked into the 'best of' categories and not the normal best of the year ones. There's also some really weird stuff in those categories. Like why is FF7R in RPG when it's got less of that than almost any of the Action/Adventure games? Why is Yakuza 7 only in one category? Or 13 Sentinels? Why is Last of Us in every category when meme's about how pissed people off lasted longer than any discussion about the game itself? Why is FF7R up for best narrative when it's incomplete?

The nominees are picked by journos and journos already aggressively picked their stance on last of us 2, they cant backpedal now. theyd compromise their integrity if they didnt have it dominate after all the crazy stuff they said about the game.

I would have preferred Smash's second FF rep be from a game besides 7 so that's not the only game represented in the series, but that said his trailer was really cool and I NEED to see Sephiroth Kirby.

I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a million other people I'd rather see in Smash (even within FF) but damn was that trailer good.

I like playing as Cloud so it needs at least 1. Also I hear it's got good music so here's to hoping for more than 3 songs.

Unless they toss in some Remake songs, but I don't think Hollow is really an exciting fight song.

With a series as big and influential as FF I think 2 reps for it is fair, i just wish they weren't both FF7.

As lame as his game ended up being, Noctis would have been really fun to play in Smash. Or go for one of the more oldschool ones like Terra from FF6.

I have no idea how Byleth plays in Smash (lol lots of crossed wires in these posts) but Noctis in XV does a LOT of teleporting around, which I don't think is Byleth's thing.
