Well nevermind all that.

Here’s where their accounts differ: Platinum Games sought to hire Taylor for at least five sessions, each paying $3,000 to $4,000 for four hours in the studio, said the people, who asked not to be identified because they aren’t authorized to discuss private contract negotiations. That would make the total for the game at least $15,000. In response, they said, Taylor asked for a six-figure sum as well as residuals on the game. Platinum declined and, following lengthy negotiations, took auditions for a new actor. Platinum later offered Taylor a cameo in the game for the fee of one session, which she turned down, the people said.
Plot twist, you can't make this shit up. Or maybe they can? Tune in next time on drama within the gaming industry.
Honestly, I don't believe it matters whether she misrepresented the situation - or, well lied about it, actually. The deeper issues are that no one should be underpaid, period, and VAs specifically should be much more valued by both Hollywood and the gaming industry.
I do think lies in fact matter and especially so when you are trying to make a moral-economic argument for your case while also implying that a fellow VA is essentially a scab. VAs absolutely should be better-valued (as with game devs in general - seeing more a cut of the profits of their labour); the comparison is made with Hollywood actors earning millions for equivalent sales as the Bayo series but I feel that falls a bit flat: these actors should probably earn less.

Should they? Well, perhaps in terms of the intensiveness of the labour involved, but I'm given to understand AAA games can be much more lucrative than most Hollywood blockbusters.
Regardless, there's ample room between "A-lister earnings" and "peanuts".
They can be, but breaking a million copies is a big milestone for most games and that's something it takes most games a long while to achieve. That's what $60 million USD? A bad horror movie does that in a single weekend, as the latest Halloween movie did.
Sure you get your Minecrafts, GTA Vs, Genshins, and CoDs that sell hundreds of millions of copies or equivalent lootboxes, but they are the outlier here. It's still the dream everyone is chasing though which is why every company is trying to get a live service game off the ground, because everyone wants that sweet, sweet Fortnight money.

This is a strange timeline.
I said the exact same thing. Who would have guessed.
But I guess the whole redemption and punishment angle is a thing he is good at spinning, so not an unfit pick.
For people who missed the stream, here are the cut up announcements.

Is the original director for the movie a good thing? They're the one who decided that Harry wasn't masculine enough so they gender flipped him.

The VA industry in the US absolutely needs to be further developed, but the funds should go towards better training facilities and streamlined career tracks for new talent, not padding the paychecks of current "stars" (which this person wasn't even in the limited scope of the VA industry).

I mean movie stars should make less money - especially as the non-acting work that goes into filmmaking increases. That way, using movie stars an example is not good, because it's an already bad situation that shouldn't be copied. VAs definitely should be paid more, obviously; any work should pay enough for someone to live comfortably. Labour after all is entitled to the value it creates, and mass media products create a lot of value.

It's not like they don't make a livable wage, assuming they get a few roles every year (and if they don't- that's show business). Anyway if the industry grows, so will recognition for the profession as a whole, and so will opportunities (for appearances in cons, panels, shows, whatever). Again, just look at how Japan does it (though hopefully without the whole "idol" cult shit).
