Now do the same for World of Warships.

You know it.
Sure, but visual novels despite rising prominence in the west are still so niche you wont hear of them by any mainstream anime or gaming newssites, not even famous brands like KEY, nitro, age or leaf/aquaplus. You either have to follow dedicated VN outlets yourself or be part of a fandom thats invested in them and passively absorb the info. Type-moon fandom used to be such a fandom, but I dont think it is anymore. Also consider: how actively are you into visual novels compared to 10 years ago when Rewrite came out? Its undeniable KEYs brand has lost a lot of the power it had in late 90s through the 00s, much like any of the behemoths of yesteryear not involved in a billion dollar gacha game, but they still are big enough to turn a lot of heads in the VN community when they announce games.
Those are pretty cosmic brain characters, besides Jack-O who only pretends to be. If you want 'fun' as in causing a whole bunch of weird stuff to happen in the game, then there's Faust who throws out random items and adjusts his game according to what those items end up being, or Zappa who randomly gets one of three tools to play the game with. Faust's pretty easy, too, but Zappa is unique to +R.
I mean technically the most cosmic character in every Guilty Gear is overwhelmingly Venom, and Ram and Jack-O both wish they were as dynamic, but you probably want someone easier that lets you have wacky projectile hijinks, so I guess that would be Bridget?
Or just orient yourself by where you're really coming from, I guess:

From what I understand, unlike the anime, the games aren't voiced. This decreases my motivation.

They approved Lisa's existence, I somehow doubt they would stop here. I mean I know Australia is a meme, but...
shit BL says
Once and always and nevermore.
Australia is the same country that bans small-breasted perfectly legal women from porn because it is in the "spirit" of child porn. Of course, Australia is not as bad as commie China, but that's a real low bar to cross:

From what I'd heard it's more 'under new management' rather than gone forever.

If you mistrust everyone, you can't be betrayed:
In some ways, that's good news. Those studios can go independent now, like Bungie and others left Microsoft's control.
In terms of business, this is a very late decision. The US and Europe each account for 4-5 times as many sales as Japan. Letting the Japanese make decisions based on their local market has always been a problem with Sony and the Playstation.
Of course they're waiting from order from California, that's where they moved the head office to. And everyone wants their games to have worldwide appeal, only going for a single market is a stupid idea, cutting you off from a bunch of potential sales. As for layoffs, who knows, maybe Covid hit them hard.

No if you want a good game you let the creator do what they want and not care about markets at all. If you want a game to sell, which is the sole purpose of the company, then you appeal top as many people as you can. You're looking at it too much from the position of the player, when you've got to look at it from the money grubbing suits PoV. It's not the right way to go about it, but it's how they think.

fuck no
there are very few developers that can make a good game while having complete creative freedom. A good publisher serves two purposes - to provide support for developer so that they can focus on making a game and keeping the developer in check so that they dont do dumb shit while making a game.
while i'm not a playstation owner and dont particularly follow the scene it seemed to me that core japanese branch including japan studio more or less knows what to do in terms of producing content for the console. I cant imagine losing 2/3rds of your core developer workforce to be any good for future ps content. The unique, exclusive content is the lifeblood of a console, you need inhouse devs to make it. The globalisation thing is fucking bullshit too, its corporate speak for microtransactions and other bullshit. The statement in the tweet, if true, is extremely depressing.
