My point was, Nasu!Iskandar doesn't need a charioteer because he doesn't need free hands to hold other things than the chariot's bridle.

Actually I think he drives it one handed in a couple promotional art pieces so he can dual wield the chariot and his spatha.
Being a charioteer for a hero in ancient epic is a death sentence. The idea is that you can't have your opposing hero missing massively (or he looks like a pathetic tool), but the really big, epic fights can't just be decided on the bow-shot or spear-throw. So all the charioteers get killed by arrows or spears meant for the guys they're driving along.
There is this hilarious bit in Iliad 16 where Patroklos hits a charioteer so hard that the poor sod does a back-flip off the chariot. Then Patroklos goes "LOL! Why didn't you take up diving as a career? You're a crappy chariot-driver, anyway."

Well you see, Ares is the god of war but Heracles is the god of strength. Since you need strength to make war, even if it is the strength of the people you are ordering around, Heracles is the superior god in the hierarchy.

Heracles and Diomedes were the only demigods to wound two Olympians.
Athena's his chariot driver for that part, though.

Or, if you mean that Diomedes was the only one to wound Ares, then no. There's also a poem called the Shield of Herakles, which recounts a duel between Herakles (with Iolaus as his driver) and Kyknos (son of Ares, with Ares as his driver). Herakles kills Kyknos, but Ares doesn't heed Zeus' advice to stand back. Then Herakles stabs him with a spear and Ares finally listens to sense.
