Hey hey if anyone finds a high quality of the end pic with the butler & maids let me know!
Just want to point out that Watcher is also supposed to fit under Gatekeeper class, which may either just be another handwaved reference by Narita, or it's an actual lore tidbit, in which case you kinda have to consider that when you proceed with the moby dick theory as well.
Watcher is clearly the NSA

Let it not burden your soul, nor numb your strides.
Wait if watcher is Hubris, isn't Sigma screwed? I mean more than we expected
Something something Lancer luck.
What if Watcher is just designed to give Sigma a goal or a wish? Sure the shadows are all related to hubris, but Sigma isn't developes enough to have his own goals outside of a hot meal. Watcher might be around to give him his own "white whale" to chase.
Just thinking, of course.
I just expect Sigma to wind up wielding that Sword/Lance somehow.
Wasn’t there some thing that said Narita was going to give Sigma a Shielder originally? I wonder if this whale qualifies as Shielder in some weird symbolic way or if it would have been a different hero.
needs more Wakame
Going a little further on that, if Watcher really is a symbol of hubris, its ultimate trial would most likely be tempting ∑ with hubris (which kinda already worked out, since his first reaction to being told "you can be a superhuman ghost except not dead" is lying to his employer) and having deal with the fallout of that. Whether this means Sigma will become Ligma by admitting his breach of contract and properly sharing all of the information he has to Francesca and Faldeus or by simply overpowering the consequences of his hubris by defeating Faldeus is still anyone's guess.
In either case I still prefer the theory that Watcher was unironically Chaplin all along. Sigma becoming Pseudo-Servant Chaplin is still good and possible tho.

Machines do not lose their worth when a newer model appears.
Their worth (life) ends when humans can no longer bear that purity.
