That reminds me. When fighting Gil, there's a description that said Richard's sword beam was really small compared to actual Excalibur, but then he kept swinging in quick succession that the beam started to resemble the real deal. Assuming the beam immediately vanishes after the swing, then I suppose that was the testament of his speed.
So this is all an excuse to allow Richard to finally hold Ayaka in his arms as they run away, Naruhodo, Naruhodo

My Number 1 Prediction is that Tine will use the Potion of Youth to save Gilgamesh, hence we get Kid Gil in the mix.
Flat will eventually return to human form. It will turn out that this transformation was why all of his family's previous attempts at killing him failed.
Moby DickWatcher will play some role against Gugalanna.
I feel like "Flat" would recognize Ayaka as non-human and would drop so vague stuff about her before dipping to do his evil plan.
I doubt the transformation is why his family's attempts to kill him failed. We were told in volume 4 that Flat ability to see "it" is why he survived. whatever "it" is

Who's to say "it" isn't what he turned into? It's probably wishful thinking on my part. I kind of want Flat to survive just cause I like how insane he is.
