The Battle to Dismantle the Grail

The taking apart of the Holy Grail War.
Ten years after the Fifth War. Lord Emelloi the Second (real name, Waver Velvet. One of the Masters of the Fourth War) arrived in Fuyuki and together with the head of the Tohsaka line, set out to completely take apart the Great Grail. The Association was planning on bring back the Greater Grail, so the two sides were completely opposed. After the end of the great turmoil of the same magnitude as the Grail War, the Greater Grail was completely dismantled. The Grail Wars of Fuyuki came to a complete conclusion here.

So. A battle to end the Fuyuki Grail Wars. Maybe I haven't been looking, but I haven't seen much speculation. Ten years after FSN, a conflict just as big as the Heaven's Feel. On one side we know there is Waver and Rin. Probably Shirou as well if he's around.

The other side would be the Association, definitely the Einzbern, and definitely Zouken. Now I don't see Waver and Rin winning that fight even with an UBW Shirou, unless its the Good End and Saber is there. So I imagine there must be other allies. Perhaps the Barthomeloi? Since the Archibalds are connected to them.

Anyway, discuss this apparent conflict that perhaps should spawn its own story and definitely fanfiction. Why has such a sweet scenario not spawned any fanfic anyway?

Because Nasu only mentioned it a few months ago and the majority of FSN fans probably haven't even heard of it yet.

It's a good concept, though. I'm especially interested in what would happen to Sakura here (yes, I'm sure you all find that highly shocking...). As for winning, I don't think the Association would care enough to go all-out to win in the way that Rin and Waver would, so the main enemy would probably be Zouken, along with the Einsberns. Also, I'm not sure that Saber post-UBW would be that much help, due to prana constraints (and the fact that she isn't willing to harm innocents), especially since she needs prana burst to be stronger than even Rin. I can see Nasu writing it himself at some point, actually, although that certainly shouldn't stop any fanfic writer who wants to take it on.

Honestly, I need to see Shirou in this if it does happen. Or else I won't be able to fully enjoy it. Not as a main character even, he just needs to show up.

You know, I'm half-wondering when that wave of inevitable Waver+Rin shipping is going to kick up.

If Urobuchi writes it, then Rin will walk in on Zouken just as he finishes off some ritual to use Sakura to activate the Grail, and then will be forced to sacrifice herself to kill Sakura and destroy the Grail once and for all, probably by setting off the equivalent of a nuke in the middle of Fuyuki. Then, magic will become public knowledge and the entirety of the Association will be arrested, brutally tortured and then burnt at the stake....

Mm, I like Urobuchi's own stuff but not so much when he gets his grimdark in my Fate.

Well, you have my support, simply because Urobuchi writing it means Sakura's chances of survival drop from reasonable to very low, and Sakura's chances of dying a horrible death in order to traumatise Rin go up from essentially nil to very high....

Mostly, I hope we don't see any Servants get re-used (Unless it follows Fate or UBW good, but even then I'd only want Saber). I'd like some new faces to gush over and make fanclubs for. That is, if they do a proper Grail War at all.

Why?

Why would I, who is a strong fan of a character who is, in this scenario, virtually ideal for being killed off for the purpose of causing angst and suffering to the protagonists, like the idea of someone known for writing dark stories writing this one?

There's really not. Occasionally you'll get some back and forth between Mike and I -- since I want to see Association inter-faction warfare focused around Waver's badassedness and stuff we've only ever heard about in side material, and Mike wants something closer to a Fate sequel focused around Rin and Shirou (and Sakura) defending their turf.

That's the only real discussion I can recall on the subject though. Not all that surprising, considering the entirety of what we know is that paragraph as well as Nasu saying "we'll learn more about this later" a couple times when talking about some Association stuff.

I don't think there are going to be any servants, actually. But, if there were, I would assume that Saber, at least, would come back (although post-Fate that would be kind of hard, since she's canonically in Avalon thanks to Last Episode), and Rider has a decent shot at being resurrected as well (due to her popularity).

Well, mainly I want to see Sakura getting saved. But, in general I'd rather it involve the characters that I already care about (i.e. Rin, Shirou, Sakura etc.) rather than a bunch of Association characters who are, probably, all assholes (except Waver, I guess...).
