I mean, let's say my proof is a PM, and the Admin team checks the mailbox of the offending account.

They could identify those people "in the know" and hand out punishments.

though on a more general note it is my personal hope and belief that combing through PMs will not be a normal feature of investigation. I would not expect that to be the standard response.

But why, once you get to the point where you want outside of forum private correspondence as evidence why not just try the PMs first. At least we know of those that they aren't really private compared to things like skype calls or IRC PMs.

As far as I know publishing logs without consent is actually not legal, so no. I mean it's not like any sensible court would let you get through with trying to sue someone for showing off IRC logs but depending on where you are it can be illegal.
