I liked Rin better, but I also like Sakura. Guessing people are put off from Sakura, because they feel the story is trying to force them to feel for her.

I don't know about that. I haven't met many people who like Fate the most. In fact, the overwhelming hatred for the F/SN anime seems to be because of how disliked Fate as a route is. It's always "they adapted the worst route and that's why the anime sucks", its rarely "oh it was just a poor adaptation of the fate route".

My favorite route is Fate. My favorite ending is Last Episode. Prepare my crucifixion.

On the subject of Sakura, I used to not like her. It wasn't hate, just a dispassionate lack of enjoyment.

Then I came to this forum where my fights with Mike unfortunately made me dislike her more to the point of a vendetta (not exactly my finest hour). After Mike left, I got into a discussion with Altima which made me replay Heaven's Feel and reconsider my opinion. I found that I actually don't mind her that much and maybe even like her a bit more than Rin. Most of my dislike turned out to be more towards the route's treatment of her character than towards the character itself.

Still don't like HF True though.

I was voting for her till Akiha had a chance to beat Arc, then I had to support one of my fav characters. Kohaku is still best route, followed closely by HF.

Fate is like "loves trumps over all" and a kind of happy-ish story.....along with Last Episode.

UBW portrays Shirou as the most BADASS character ever!

But Heaven's Feel is like showing you a sense of death and despair....like the whole things is just so sad and horrible. Even the endings are messed up! With exception of the good ending of course but that is why I like it.

While I personally felt Sakura was meh to OK tier, HF when it isn't focusing on her is amazing. While I prefer UBW as a route, HF is still great.

I keep trying to recapture the spark but the magic doesn't flow! I got partway through a legit lemon between Gilgamesh, Rin, and Luvia, but can't get back into the grove. Hell, I even tried what was supposed to be a short and sweet little prologue between Rin and Teenage!Kotomine as a fic to fire back at Zalgo, but that inspiration died before I even got out of the car.

Graaaaaaah! I have so many fics and good ideas but I can't do them justice!

I sort of agree with you.
I really like the UBW Shirou. The epitome of badassness.
In HF, he disregarded his ideals for the sake of his love ones. While that was the correct thing to do, I wish he hadn't completely threw away his ideals.
Family and Loved ones are always the most important but that doesn't mean we should completely sacrifice our ideals.
