Sorry for the slow reply on this, been a rough couple weeks.

So Hideyoshi says he built the castle, with Shibata complaining its just papier maché. Anyway, Oda doesn't mind cause the trick worked and suggests our lad actually start using the Hideyoshi name now. Takanaka Hanbei declares Mino is now in Oda's hands and when asked if he was going to follow Oda, he refuses, instead saying he will follow Hideyoshi.

Okita says that something is wrong with this holy grail war, namely, the Tokugawa clan seems to be completely absent, having been forced out of the country before Okehazama. Furthermore, cause the grail is supposed to provide information of the era their summoned to, but Okita's drawing a blank. Barely knows Hideyoshi, doesn't know who Akechi is and she chocks it up to not knowing much history herself.

Nagamasa Azai betrays the Oda forces, drawing Oda and Akechi away, leaving Hideyoshi and Okita to deal with the Asakura clan as they planned. Unfortunately, the Asakura have a servant of their own. Comun said that big guy is Yoshikage Asakura, but I'm not sure about that, cause he should still be alive at this point, so either he's not a servant and this is a red herring, or the servant isn't Yoshikage I think. Meanwhile, Motonari Mori seemingly talks to his sons, reciting the famous parabel of the three arrows. It seems to reveal that the Mori clan's servant is Takasugi Shinsaku, another Bakumatsu era servant along with Okita.

If its a red herring then I could see it being Sōteki Asakura. Who without doubt is the most successful military general for the Asakura clan. He's the one who carried the clan to its prominence, this old warrior still participated in battles to the age of 79. Very much fits the appearance we see in the latest chapter.

Congrats on the completely correct guess.

So apparently Souteki was known for taking out an uprising of a religious sect, the Ikko-ikki people, and his Noble Phantasm gives him the power to call on them as troops. They look kinda wraithy, so we're probably not looking at something on the scale of Okta's banner or Iskandar's army, no distinct personages in here or anything. Hideyoshi takes one look at this and basically goes "we're boned". I haven't looked at the whole thing yet, but that's the basic summary of Souteki and Hideyoshi.

Sorry for the double post, but I got round to doing my rough and dirty machine translation again. I think there's the name of Souteki's NP in here somewhere, but I could be wrong, NPs tend to have colourful double meanings and such, so the translator doesn't always read things right. Anyway, the basic summary is that Souteki's NP makes the defeated do his bidding, hence summoning the Ikko-ikki people he beat. Whether or not this applies in the present, or just to those he defeated before becoming a HS, I have no idea. Anyway, talk for another time.

After introducing Souteki proper, we go back in time to when the Oda were preparing for the Grail War, Nobu asking what sorta heroic spirit they should summon? Shibata suggests summoning Nobuhide Oda, Nobu's father but Nobu is pretty meh on the idea. Niwa says its safer than summoning somebody from outside the clan. Hideyoshi offers his opinion, prompting Shibata to ask why he's even there (Presumably due to Hideyoshi's low station at the time) Anyway, Hideyoshi points out that the Grail goes to the last one standing. So rather than a powerful general or ally, what they really need is someone good at killing others. Flashing back to the present, Okita seemingly gets the drop of Souteki. Shinsaku and an unknown person comment on Asakura's apparent loss to Oda, saying Oda's power can't be underestimated now. They wonder what type of hero did they summon, and Shinsaku says that the Oda understand the nature of the war.

Back with the Oda forces, Hideyoshi, Okita and Hanbei show up exhausted, having barely won, but Nobu praises his victory all the same. While Hideyoshi and Akechi discuss how the battle against the Azai went well, a young Chacha appears holding something. When they ask what it is, she reveals a skull, saying its "Father". This seemingly calls to mind the legend that when Nobunaga defeated Azai, he had Azai's skull lacquered so it could be used as a cup, one of the more ghoulish legends about Nobu.

The last bit is the usual out of plot shenanigans talking about GO's anniversary and such. A lot of the side talk seems to be about the new Gundam game that's out.

    The NP name is
    Winning is everything
Katsu koto ga hon nite sourou
, from Souteki's famous "winning is everything for a warrior, even though he may be called a dog or beast" quote, which he says in full as the NP activation chant.

Cheers, thanks very much. I got something about dogs and beasts, but I couldn't make heads or tails and assumed it was something to do with his NP. Sometimes the computer spits out something close enough to decode from context, sometimes its complete gibberish and this one just came up so fragmented I couldn't hazard a guess beyond maybe being the title of his NP. I know Machine translation isn't exactly the best way to do things, but thanks for helping out on that all the same, appreciate it big time.

EDIT: If you don't mind me asking, do you spot any mention of Souteki's class in there? The Wiki is calling him Berserker, but I couldn't pick out the word using my scan, but I could've just missed it somewhere.

It's time to play, how badly can I fuck up the translation!

Shinkuro and Kagetora face off, and to be honest my translator spat pure gibberish at me for a good chunk of their discussion so I'm trying to figure it out from context clues. Shinkuro mentions making frequent trips to Ueno seemingly to battle Kagetora? Kagetora basically saying its her duty to defend the land from him even if they seem to just be playing around. Shinkuro says did he make it sound like he couldn't kill her at any point, trying to reassure himself that in his younger form he should be able to take her. Kagetora says she doesn't understand why people are acting the way they are in this wartorn era, but Shinkuro basically calls her out, saying she knows better than anyone and thinks of the two of them, Kagetora is the more inhuman. She freely admits to this while Bishamonten manifests behind her and asks if "Soun-Sama" can help her understand. Here Shinkuro says something about a castle not burning? Maybe some Japanese idiom I'm not familiar with and says its not so bad that he can't directly match up to gods and buddhas. Anyway, he unleashes his Noble Phantasm, which again is some sorta mess, I think he says "Tribulation Flame Five Colours Fire Bull" Which to be fair, there's five flames shaped like bulls, so there's good odds at least part of it is right, even if the full meaning is lost somewhere in the translation.

It seems this phantasm relates to his capture of Odawara castle, where his army apparently attached torches to bull horns, making it seem like his army was much bigger and driving the enemy away in fear, allowing to castle to be captured easily.

Takeda seems to review the battle, with Shinkuro apparently being defeated for good this time and Takeda lamenting that Kenshin walked away. I think the ninja reports getting burned and asking for time off over new years, but Takeda basically tells him to go burn to death.

Hanbei wonders if the Hojo will drop out with the defeat of their servant, Nene tells Hideyoshi that somebody called Sakichi is there to see him and he runs off. Okita wonders who that is and Hanbei explains that Hideyoshi has few vassals and as such is training subordinates. (Sakichi being a young Mitsunari Ishida) Nene seemingly expresses despair that Hideyoshi doesn't yet have an heir.

Meanwhile, Akechi and Nobu discuss the offer they've gotten to escort Ashikaga Yoshiaki to the capital to become shogun, at least I assume that's what's happening, I had to look up a bunch of stuff to make sense of this. Basically Nobu sees the offer as a means to bring the Oda to heel under the Shogun and when Akechi doesn't say anything to the contrary, she starts kicking him, saying he's gonna babysit the shogun with her. Taking a break from Akechi abuse, she asks Hideyoshi if the Mori are moving. Hideyoshi says they've summoned a servant, but don't seem to be making any moves as of yet. Nobu says that with the Asakura and Hojo down most of their enemies are concentrated in the west. She asks if Hideyoshi is gonna come with and he agrees without a second thought. The last page gives us the intro to "the strongest" in this case meaning the famous Takeda Cavalry, a military unit that was basically undefeated in Feudal Japan until Oda's three line formation managed to break it, sorry for the spoiler on a 500 year old war.

I have no idea about the last page of bonus stuff, it took so much work to get this far and I'm still embarassed that this is likely mostly wrong, so forgive me for skipping that part.

New chapter up, so here we go once more with my terrible attempts.

Okay, so Okita and Hideyoshi stand over Takeda and remark that Shingen is already dead. Going back in time, we see that the then Hashiba Hideyoshi getting his ass beat by Takeda's cavalry and retreating to the Oda's defensive line in Nagashino. Running right into the jaws of Mitsuhide's arquebus line, the Takeda are brought down. Hideyoshi attacks Mitsuhide for firing while he was in the line of fire. Calling him a kumquat. XD

Hopping back to the present, they remark that Shingen must've been dead by then at least. They make some commentary on his apparent lack of strength (I think, I might be reading this wrong) To which Takeda basically says he's not done yet and says this is Takeda's battle and a "Flag for Seta"? If I had to guess this is referencing the specific place in Shiga prefecture where Oda had set up camp and indicating the next move for the Takeda forces. Oda's crew express surprise and confusion at this, Takeda says something here about taking his blood with them? I don't get it, it's possibly a turn of phrase I'm not getting, anyway, this is all a long way of saying that Hideyoshi and Okita were being drawn away by "Shingen" more than likely Takeda Katsuyori while Takeda's real force attacks Oda directly. Shibata tells Oda that an army is on their doorstep. The banner raised is the famous battle standard of Shingen, with Fūrinkazan written on it.

The fella leading the Takeda (Presumably the real servantfied Shingen) thanks them for supporting him so far and basically tells Nobu that they're gonna settle this.

At the very least, this chapter does make it seem that, if alligned with real world history, this grail war is taking place over years, as Sunomata castle was built in 1567 while the battle of Nagashino was '75, not to mention the death of Imagawa in the first chapter happened in 1560, meaning that Okita has presumably been by Hideyoshi's side for about 15 years now.

Divine General/Warlord of Takeda, FuuRinKaZan too stronk. but having divinity is really bad if you're fighting Nobunaga.

lol Keikenchi mostly talks about Pekora on side notes.

I mean, that's basically it, so I don't know what I'm gonna add, but here goes. XD

So Takeda expresses surprise that Nobu held up so well for a human. Nobu asks if he intends to become a god I think.

Shingen says the Takeda will never perish and that they have the Holy Grail. He does part of Fuurinkazen I think and splits the clouds.

Hideyoshi jumps in to strike yelling Nobunaga, but gets backhanded by Shingen who compliments him on his speed.

Okita then moves to attack, but is blocked. Shingen says something about Yoshimoto cutting his fate? I'm not entirely sure what this is about or why we're referencing back to Imagawa now.

Okita goes for her Noble Phantasm, but Takeda does "like the wind" and knocks her down. Okita expresses surprise that he's faster than her. Shingen's next line comes up as "Kisama knows everything" but I don't know why he's saying that in this context.

Shibata tells Hideyoshi to leave it to him and clashes with Takeda. Nobu starts asking herself what's going on. She starts to think that Shingen isn't just a heroic spirit, at this point he's the divine general that Katsuyori gave his life to summon. Kicking Hideyoshi aside, Nobu decides that if a god stands in her way, she'll just have to kill god too. Starting to blast off her clothes like an R-Rated Super Saiyan, Hideyoshi says something about "Maybe Lord Yoshimoto could(n't) do it" Cause of that translation fuck up, I can't tell if he means this power is the same as one Imagawa had, or that Nobu has now truly surpassed Imagawa as someone who can stand against Heroic Spirits while a human, it's again, my dodgy machine translation, so please excuse me for not getting this one right.

Anyway, Nobu goes full Three Thousand Worlds Demon King of the Sixth Heaven and Takeda rightly shits himself that she now apparently has power akin to a heroic spirit.

The last page, I have no idea, more memes, but it does feature all the characters from the latest Liz quest.

Okay, thus begins shitty translation time.

So Takeda asks if Nobu knows the true nature of this Holy Grail and the word he uses is apparently Rebellion and not war, but same diff I guess. Nobu asks what he means, but he just says that Seta can't be beat and disappears. Hideyoshi asks what Shingen did. Kagetora says that Takeda Harunobu (Meaning Shingen) is dead.

It says that from then on, Kagetora lost her brilliance and that in the Kaga region, Shibata was getting beat and Nobu sent Hideyoshi as back up. Nobu yells asking if Hideyoshi defied her orders, but Hideyoshi said there was no need for backup against Kagetora now. Nobu basically accepts this and says fair enought, Shibata has now faced the God of War now too.

The next page we get intro'd into a new character, Kanbei Kuroda, another famous strategist of the era. He says he avoided the scolding and Hideyoshi tells him to shut up. Hanbei says that "This guy will definitely..." and I can't figure out the last part, if there is a last part, so sorry it's a little vague. We get our proper intro to Kanbei, saying he's a great strategist and one of Hideyoshi's two generals, but despite his fame he had a lot of mistakes. He asks what is he exactly to Hideyoshi and thought he was needed. Unfortunately Hanbei dies of illness. His gravestone has apologies above it. Hideyoshi curses him out, telling him to take care of his body and Kanbei is just like "See, you needed me after all."

Hideyoshi is informed that Kanbei's attempt to negotiate with Araki Murashige went sideways and he got caught. Hideyoshi says of course that happened, Kanbei's so smart he's stupid. Rescuing Kanbei, he says he thought he was gonna die. The black text references the damage sustained to his legs during imprisonment. Hideyoshi asks if he was alive. The next panel informs us that around that time Kagetora died. She insists that she didn't die on the toilet, that it was a later invention.

Narration tells us that Oda is ignoring the east for now and focusing in on the Mori clan in the west, sending our favourite monkey boy to do the job of sieging Tottori Castle. Because the siege involved basically waiting out the castle while they starved, the next panel is the wee guy I don't know saying he brought the rice, Hideyoshi asking Kanbei how long he thinks they can last and Kanbei guessing around April. Poor lil Okita is looking a bit useless given this battle doesn't exactly require her murder skills. Hideyoshi just chills with his rice when the little dude says that right now, in the castle... Dragging out to what I assume to be the starvation inside. (Is that guy supposed to be an older Hidenaga?

Hideyoshi says that they should attack relentlessly at this time, that he understands what it's like not to be able to eat and that its better than letting the soldiers die in vain. They prepare to move onto Takamatsu Castle. Shinsaku says it's his turn now.

Nobunaga gets a letter from Hideyoshi asking for reinforcements. Akechi says that since his opponent is Mori maybe it's too much for Hideyoshi. Nobu calls him an idiot and that this is an indicator of Hideyoshi's good mood. The next phrase says something about giving flowers, I think it's a turn of phrase for basically telling Akechi to mind his business and not give her advice. This insult is apparently what leads to Honnoji.
