I suppose it was fairly good. A bit boring watching them find new ways to avoid showing people die or get cut but this is American animation we're talking about. Still irritated about the whole energy thing even if I knew it was going to happen in advance.

Hell, I liked it enough to go buy it. Never saw the movie, though.

In all honesty, I felt like there were a lot of loose ends left at the end that begged for a sequel, or at least some good fiction. The setting had, and still has, a lot of potential.

Also, Toph ftw, including the badass pic posted herein.

The movie is something that should have never seen the light of day.

They're making the Legend of Korra, she's the Avatar directly after Aang.

    Ooooh. Nice.

But nah, I was talking about things like "What happens with Azula, how does Aang rebuild the Air Nomads, what happens with Toph and her Metal Bending, and how does the world recover from the huge political upheavals in the Earth and Fire nations."

Plus, there's always other potential villains in the works, and minor loose ends, such as the Blood Bender, left only partially explained.

Apparently, some of those loose ends will be tied up via flashback in the new series.

Also, Korra is going to be taught airbending by Aang and Katara's son.

Ozai had to wait for the eclipse to end before zapping Zuko.

No, lightning is a subset of firebending.

The fundamental technique of firebending is "creating energy within yourself", which is expressed as fire. Lightning changes it from "creating energy within yourself" to "creating an imbalance that creates energy when rebalanced".

Lightning itself can only be bended when your in a state of null, or something around that. Iroh accomplishes it BY BEING A STONE COLD BADASS by being calm and serene, and Azula does it by BEING TOO FUCKING CRAZY entering into a state of void. A good expression for it would be like what Shirou does for archery. Zuko can't bend lightning because he's too emotional, he can only redirect it.

Does Ozai accomplish it by entering an ultimate void of prickishness?

It's anime. Because it is animated.

That said, if you're speaking English and call it anime, you're a douche.

He does it by imagining himself topless.

Why else do you think he suddenly goes lightning-crazy the second he busts out of his clothes when he was happily flame-beaming the Earth Kingdom two seconds prior?

Korra isn't going to be as good as the original. Gilgamesh's 2nd law of fakers.
