Having watched it a couple times I kinda miss the feeling that Gil completely lost his cool, but it was still enjoyable to watch.

Though the anime version does leave me questioning why Gil didn't put on his bullshit armor when Shirou started charging at him, since he wasn't freaking out as much.

When Gilgamesh got serious enough to actually consider doing that he choose to bring out Ea instead and gave Shirou the opening to cut his arm off.

For once the narrating is going to save us from a deluge of bullshit complaints about how it's impossible for a loser like Shirou to do anything.

I liked the hesitation with Ea. Even then he wasn't willing to go all out so he probably still didn't want to give in and put on his armor.

I thought it was agreed upon long ago that Shirou's ability to defeat Gilgamesh was because of his Nasu Brand Plot Armor(TM)

When Rin ordered Saber to destroy the Grail via Command Seal I could just imagine her thinking "Oh not this shit again."

IIRC part of Shirou's ability in tracing is that it lets him mimic the strength/skill of the wielder. Not perfectly, but it's something.

Thus why Nine Lives Blade Works is a thing
