I am pretty sure right around the time gil was breaking his own treasures for 2 extra seconds of life a piece, he was using the best weapons he had in stock that werent EA.

Nope.He can make anything. He can trace a fucking lot of shit, like blankets,Bows fishing rods, shields, whatever. The only limitation is really the mana cost. The cost and strain of making blades is just infinitelly less because of his origin and RM.
