Which I think leaves it up for more serious discussion on whether UBW can counter closer GOB opening, which I think is plausible if we allow Archer's demonstration to be applicable to Shirou.

I just thought that since Shirou is a sword, he can use swordkinesissword-telekinesis to boost his jumps and slow his falls. Though while watching some live reactions I noticed that for all that Arashi complained, Shirou was always forced back before he jumped forwards towards Gil. He only got close enough to clash swords when he began walking running in a circle around Gil. And when he flew on Rho Air.

Some people and friends told me that this week episode was asspull especially Shirou vs Gil and Archer sudden appearance.

I kinda disagree with the first one but well, Archer sudden appearance was rather ass-pulley even in the VN...

UBW's ending is shaky as a whole, but I still think it's really enjoyable and Ufo did a great job in the adaptation. If I had to ask to change something in the fight, maybe less jumps? From Shirou I mean. Got kind of ridiculous.

I looked at Zero yesterday to get a screenshot for something.
But watching parts to get to that point, think I liked Zero more. However, I thought the high points of UBW were better than the high points of Zero.
Knk was better than Zero though.

Get the guy that directed ep 8 of Danmachi to do it, and I can guarantee you'd detect the difference between "Miura" and "really good."

Too bad he was wasted on a series like Danmachi. Fate as a series in and of itself is good, so even with an (in my opinion slightly above) average director, itll turn out well. Also, Fate had pacing issues that I can not chalk up to only Miura because episode 0 had the best pacing out of all.

I feel like too many people got mindbroken from FFD and jumped straight to lolshieldsurfing. Shirou just held it out in front of him to block incoming fire while he fell toward Gil to dismember him.

As for the Gate of Bablyon: Cage of Death Mode, Shirou probably flung as many swords as he could and used Rho Aius to block the rest before leaping up for the dismembering blow.

I don't read FFD, and you're right in that he's more windsurfing with it as a sail rather than surfing on it. But it's an easy joke to make.

Having watched it a couple times I kinda miss the feeling that Gil completely lost his cool, but it was still enjoyable to watch.

Though the anime version does leave me questioning why Gil didn't put on his bullshit armor when Shirou started charging at him, since he wasn't freaking out as much.

I liked this episode. There were some shaky bits, but the Gil vs Shirou fight was as epic as I imagined. Though, the start of tge fight between Gil and Shirou was lackluster, but it's probably because I imagined Shirou saying "Do you have enough swords, king of heroes" more epically.
