It's coming spring 2014. Be there or be square. I for one am pleasantly hyped for this, though wary that it may just be a single cour/have terrible pacing. But my giddiness for the series wins out because it's a tale of mutant monsters shredding a post-disaster dystopic Japan versus hunters with bullshit science metal and their weaponized little girl partners. It also helps that Emiya Kiritsugu, Eren Jaegar, and DEBAN are bringing their vocal talents to the project.

Morino Hon has a very distinct, kinda fluffy, expressive artstyle that is noticeably different from the art style of the light novel illustrations. I'm assuming they decided to go with visuals closer to the latter for the anime because it might be a better fit to the overall mood of the series and easier to animate.

That and most adaptations generally try to replicate the original light novel's artwork to an animated form.
Example: UBD and OreShura both have the same character designs.
Counter-Example: SAO looks more like Working!! characters have been trapped in the game world.

First episode, looking pretty good.
Didn't know Kagetane was being voiced by Rikiya, but I like what I've head so far!
Just Kisara's look seemed to be bothering me a little, the way they drew her hair, but I did come straight from the Morino Hon manga, so it might just be that.
