I didn't recognize Ei Aoki's name at first, but his resume is certainly notable enough for me and I would presume most people here. Incidentally the Troyka mentioned at the website is a new studio he and his friends founded late last year. This will be their first anime, made in conjunction with A-1.
No details yet except the mecha silhouette in the background, but the writer and director are enough to get my attention.
What's Gen's mecha record? Technically 0? Probably will keep my eyes out for it.
Gargantua obviously, although that's more of a series that includes mecha rather than a mecha series, so to speak. Then again it's too early to say this is going to be 100% mecha either. In hindsight I might've jumped the gun a bit on thread creation given how little info we have, but eh it's not a big deal either way.
Not really familiar with his VN output besides Saya no Uta, so someone else will have to speak to those, but a cursory googling doesn't seem to indicate any mecha.

Demonbane itself was written by Haganeya. Demonbane, the OP song, had its lyrics written by Urobuchi though.
Urobuchi only wrote like 6 or 7 episodes in Blassreiter.

Honestly I wouldn't worry too much about him not having any "experience" in the mecha genre (honestly can't name anyone off the top of my head who would be considered an expert at making mecha anime, unless you count Hideaki Anno and really he's doing his own thing). He wrote for Puella Magi Madoka Magica without any mahou shoujo experience and it's the favorite example of the genre for a not too shabby amount of people.

What if this will be another light-hearted healing anime like Gargantia kinda was?
Is there another writer on board? If yes, than there's probably a good chance. Otherwise expect typical Gen fair (not that he's incapable of writing happy endings).

The website's color scheme makes me think this will at least be Psycho-Pass levels of darkness/grimness, although it's too early for anything but pure speculah.
