Cool action, and a decent little story. Pretty good. I like it.

Pretty excellent prequel/origin story to YuYuYu. The cast is great and when the tragedy hits, it hurts. Lots of interesting details about the world and how it became what we see in Yuuki Yuuna. Pretty good read

Caught up on 40 chapters of Goblin Slayer, it's really nice to see how he's slowly starting to break out of his shell. The lack of an overarching story arc is starting to hurt engagement, though.

I ate through Oshi no Ko and caught up with it in two sittings... My eyes want to fall out of my face.

It looks like I caught up with it at a good time. Things are all clicking together, though I do expect this movie arc to take a good amount of chapters.

Definitely not the Kaguya-like manga I expected. I have a couple gripes but I enkoyed the ride do far. Will keep up with the weekly release and watch the anime when it comes out.

I finished the last volume of the Mars Red manga.
    Spoiler:

Following the last volume, Code Zero goes to the Ascra factory and kill the vampires that are there using Takeuchi's smoke bombs to mess with their senses.
Just when they think they're done, Defrott shows up and there no match for him.

It's then that they find out, that Nakajima has already used the vampire units in Siberia and the fall of Tsingtao. Defrott thought Code Zero was with them, but since they aren't, he tells them that the only thing he wants is a peaceful death. With the way the world is becoming more modern, supernatural creatures such as vampires have no place there. When he saw those mindless vampire units, he and the other vampires with him decided to destroy them.

In the manga at least, Defrott was turned in the 14th century, in the French region of Brittany.
And just like in the anime, the vampire woman who made him a vampire couldn't live with having turned a child, and never drank blood until they died.
    Defrott is 600 years old.

Nakajima's motives are still the same.

Here the Ascra is used to revive dead people and turn them into mindless vampire soldiers, which happened to Maeda, who right before passing away from his heart condition, told Nakajima that he still wanted to be of use to him. Now an S-Class Vampire, Made fought against Code Zero right until the earthquake happened.
But this time, in the middle of the wreckage, Yamagami managed to hold back Maeda until both of them burned up from the sun's rays reached them.

At the last minute though, despite being mindless, Maeda managed to tell Yamagami that he stole his black belt in the military academy. Yamagami forgave him though and said that should have dinner together, with Maeda agreeing and saying that he wanted to have tempura.

Like before, Aoi got hurt trying to help a trapped Defrott and Kurisu goes to rescue her. While getting the glider, Suwa remembered what happened to his sister and her face. While he was being attacked by the vampires, he managed to break free and grab his sister, then throw her into the ocean. Since vampires sink in the water, and she could swim, she was saved by that.

The ending is pretty much the same. I guess with all the flames coming from him, you're supposed to assume that Kurisu died while taking Aoi to the hospital, despite the sunscreen.

The manga version of Mars Red was drawn around the musical stage reading, so the artist said that the game and the anime would likely be different. While their foundations are the same, they're each they're own Mars Red. That would explain the differences.

The manga also shows the initial character sheets at the end too, which was pretty cool. If I had to say which one I liked more, it would probably be the anime.

That's actually pretty cool, thanks for the summary.

I just went and saw the new Makoto Shinkai movie Suzume. It's good, but now where near as tight as Your Name. The main antagonist is both fun and annoying. Fun when ever they're just existing, and insufferable whenever they talk because almost everything they say goes against what's actually happening in the story.

A fun time, but not one I'd need to ever see a second time.

Just finished watching Pompo: The Cinéphile, what a fun little romp, I loved it. The story, the characters, the pacing, the shot composition, the fluid transitions, everything was solid. I guess this is what director Takayuki Hirao is capable of when he's not being forced to make a TV adaptation of a shoddy Monster Hunter clone. Paradox Spiral still beats it for me as his best work but it's close. Too bad it didn't do all that well commercially (as expected unfortunately), but I hope he gets to work on more original projects after this.

Pretty fun show. Cast is great and the conflict is decent
Not perfect, though. Some developments can come out of nowhere and the ending is very open and inconclusive. Still a fun watch

Horizon on the Middle of Nowhere. I've only gotten three episodes in, but I already like this show a lot.

Ep 1 like "there is no way you are going to get me to remember all these names"

Ep 3 like "I am taking Suzu home with me"

    Fate\last call
night, dawn, and the birth of stars

The rare "enjoying Horizon before episode 4." Before you know it you really will be able to name them all. You'll be thinking about them when you go place to place. They will consume you. This series consumed me. It became my entire personality. It still is.

Honestly love it. So good. And I read up on some behind the scenes stuff and there was clearly a lot of care from author and staff put into the adaptation, too. Truly a great show. Feels like a hidden gem these days, somewhat of a cult classic, I guess? Those who know and remember love it to bits, but it hasn't reached mainstream classic status on the level of Steins;Gate or Cowboy Bebop

For some reason I always get Horizon and Hyouka mixed up. I think it has something to do with Horizon's Jp name always showing up as "Kyouka..."

I watched the Reigai Invading Army arc of Bleach since I didn't get to before.
In the anime, instead of losing his Soul Reaper powers immediately, Ichigo's Spirit Energy is slowly decreasing. While that's happening, a man named Kageroza Inaba makes his move against the Soul Society alongside near perfect copies of several Soul Reapers called Reigei, with the key to his plans being a girl Nozomi Kujo.

It's been a long time since I watched and it was really fun seeing everyone again as well seeing what are practically dream fights happening in the anime.

But what I really wanted to see was what happened in the last episode with Ichigo's goodbye to Rukia right as she disappears from his eyes.

That moment was so sad in the book and it still was in the anime.

With that, the time skip and the Lost Agent arc begins, which I'm also going to watch and when I finish that, I'll finally watch Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War.

No problem. There's whole lot of other things I could talk about that are in the back of the book
    Spoiler:
like the diagram of Suwa's body and the location of all 11 stigmata on it.

When they say he was tortured, they weren't lying.

Both Yamagami and Maeda were in their 40s, Kurisu was 25 and Aoi is 17, Takeuchi's about 80 and was infected at 27, and Defrott at 13.
