Started Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and the lack of animated opening for the first 3 episodes has left me in despair

there is something eerie about this setting, most characters has something unique (lack of better word) about themselves; it's like psych ward lite


and i'm pausing too much just to read the silly and not plot-relevant writings on blackboard, they change everytime

I'm on episode 9 of Digimon Season 2. Davis can get a little annoying sometimes, but I really like the show so far. Seeing all the original kids a little older, helping out the new kids is pretty cool. I didn't remember that Ken was a boy genius or that he revealed his own identity to the Digidestined, all of that was a surprise.

Today's anime film outing was "Tokyo Marble Chocolate".

Or should I say "films" as this one was very peculiar, essentially two short films back to back that tell the same story but from opposite perspectives and thus two different (viewed) realities...very Rashomon-esque if I do say so myself. Another very stylistic one that definitely will turn off a lot of people but I found myself engaged the whole way through.

Found the OVA series "Read or Die" sitting forgotten at the very back of my cabinet so I stuck it on.

I really enjoyed it, short but sweet and to the point. That said, I couldn't not watch it and think of Fate because of the whole "dead heroes summoned back to life in the modern day with superpowers" - especially when Sanzo reveals his true name and Joker points out that the reason he's ridiculously OP is because he's not only drawing power from his own history but his "fame boost" from being a protagonist of "Journey to the West" as well. XD

Absolute banger of an OP too. On a short list of anime OPs that are vocal-less as well.

I mean yeah, Yomiko is a main character and in the OVA series she's hired to use her paper superpowers to fight against what basically amounts to Servants - some really obscure ones too, like who here actually knows who Jean Henri Fabre and Otto Lilienthal are without looking it up?

It's annoying that it's a bit Full Metal Panic in its continuity tho. It's been a while but I don't think there's a consistent timeline between all the series and manga etc.

An oldie - but a good. The OAV and the series after were good.

There is a huge snarl regarding Leonard and Tessa Testarossa's ages. Both are Whispers, yet Leonard is somehow older. For both to be Whispers, they'd have to have been born within a minute of each other. That being said, the rest is pretty consistent.

Oh right, that's a thing. I completely forgot all Espers are born at the same moment rather than bloodlines and stuff. It's not that bad a thing all in considering at the same time FMP was being written we had both 17 yr old Jotaro Kujo looking like he's 28, and Highschool teacher Komoe from Index who looks like she's 10.

It's not just that he looks older, but somehow Tessa refers to him as the older sibling, and the flashback where Leonard's mom ratted him out of hiding for knowing about her affair seemingly indicates Leonard was a little kid while Tessa was a baby. I dunno, it's been too long since I read translations of the relevant Light Novels.

That feeling when you've got a bunch of seasonal anime queued up, and rather than watch it you go and watch a four year old show instead.

I forget why I dropped Tanya back in the day, but since I've been seeing it around a lot recently, I decide to give it another go. Maybe I thought it too needlessly edgy, and things like Healer have worn those boundaries down. Or maybe it was just too slow, and watching it all in a single sitting eliminates that. Either way, I'm enjoying it now.

Edit: Like I don't know if it's supposed to be viewed as a comedy, but every time I see the cast discuss serious topics, but Tanya's in a highchair, I lose it.

Just rewatched Paranoia Agent for the first time in decade. I have to say it’s message about facing the hardships of reality and escapism are hurt more than helped by the surreality of Satoshi Kon.

Dream Island Obsessional Park still is catchy as hell though.
