While that's happening, the Digi-Destined plus Meiko and their Digimon decide to go to a spa to celabrate her joining their group.
After that, at night, Ogremon appears again and the government tries to stop him, but they can't before Leomon takes him back to the Digital World.
He then appears again, only for Meiko and Mimi to show up first. Mimi gets Palmon to Digivolve to Togemon instead of waiting for backup and a news helicopter got shot down in the middle of the fight. Afterwards, when they all meet up again, Izzy yelled at her for not waiting and she got mad and left. And to make things worse, the other students in her class didn't like her idea for the outfits in the festival, and it just brought her further down. Calling her a narcissist didn't help either, the nerve of them though.
Meanwhile, Joe, who's been staying out of the action the whole time and Mimi actually meet up in the rain. There he asks why is it always them who have to fight? Why is always up to them to drop everything and save the world? Because they're the Digidestined? He thought they were done with that and he wants to have a normal life, which is totally understandable. Joe's always been more wary of danger, but here, he's just really tired of it all. He doesn't want to be selfish, but he wants his life to be his own
It was after that that Mimi got the confidence to have Meiko and her wear the original costumes they designed for the festival. And Joe just pushed Gomamon further away, and he went to stay with the other Digimon.
During the festival, Matt and Tai meet up in the hallway, and Matt asks Tai why Omnimon's Digivolution failed at the end of the first movie. He asks was it because Tai had doubts about it. I never thought that could even happen, but it does make sense. It's not something I like thinking about. It's just like before, Tai's just a lot more worried about the damage not just evil Digimon make, but theirs too.
Near the end of the movie, Meicoomon gets taken away by Ken into this space in the Digital World. Patamon, Gomamon, and Leomon go into the portal, but no one else can after they do.
The bad news is Joe's not there, so Gomamon can't digivolve, and the worst news is, Imperialdramon is waiting for them in that space. But he's colored different for some reason.
The thing is, Joe forgot the most important thing, Gomamon and him are a team, they're supposed to be in this together. So when he finds out that Gomamon is in trouble, he rushes to see the fighting happening on Izzy's computer. There in that space again, both Gomamon and Palmon digivolve to Zudomon and Lilymon, but they somehow go a step further and Digivolved to Vikemon and Rosemon.
All of this time, none of their Digimon besides Agumon and Gabumon were capable of going to the Mega level and they had to fulfill a prophecy to do it.
"Those who crave true power must seek the darkness, but move past it.", has to be another one. And the first one came from Gennai, so he has to be involved somehow.
With some help from Leomon, they beat Imperialdramon Fighter Mode and got Meicoomon back.
And just whenever everything seems fine, Meicoomon destroys Leomon out of nowhere and Meiko's Digivice turns solid black with a red screen, something that's never happened before. Those infected Digimon wanted Meicoomon, and now that this happened, I don't know what to think now. And if that was the Imperialdramon that I know, why didn't they separate to Leafmon and Chibomon? Where are the rest of the 02 kids?
I also saw the trailers to the 3rd movie, the one in English and the one in Japanese. The English just has a scene even if it's for a few seconds, that was hard to see. Patamon apparently becomes infected and it's just so sad. They were the babies of the original group, I think that's what makes it really get me.
