Utterly elated for based Hayden returning to star wars.
came here to agree
He never sleeps. He never dies.
Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.
star wars is dead tho

Indeed, from what I've heard Mandalorian is carving out better prospects.
I just hope they can coalesce and build around that with all these projects rather than going the way of the Disney Trilogy thus far.
BEHOLD! THE SIG OF GOLDEN TRUTH! Pillaged from McJon, Tsukikan et al.
i have not seen conclusively that mandalorian is actually worth watching on merit and that its not just a giant cope of the remaining fanbase after getting something that isnt complete and utter shit
as such i havent seen it nor intend to in the near future

So far as I know, they're gathering up the fans of the series.
They're going continuity with Clone Wars and Rebels in live action form and continuing that story it seems. Hence my sentiment above.
At least a few of the various series' may have an intertwined plot as a result.

Mandalorian is pretty much:
~33% fan service/references
~33% well-executed formula*
~33% memes
Without the nostalgia, it stands on its own as a well-made, unpretentious, episodic show.
With it, it's like putting on your old, well-worn, favorite pair of slippers after years away from home.
For someone like me, who already had that sinking "you're too old for this shit" feeling back when I saw The Phantom Menace in the theater (At the ripe age of 14! How terrible is that?), it's the TV equivalent of sitting by the fire with chocolate and cookies while a blizzard rages outside.
It's definitely not high art, but on a pop culture level, it's pretty much the perfect EU show.
(disclaimer: haven't seen the second season yet)
* The recipe being the classic blend of Spaghetti Western IN SPACE! + Spielberg adventure blockbuster, which would place it closest to Return of the Jedi out of the original trilogy.

As the size of an explosion increases, the number of social situations it is incapable of solving approaches zero.
Haven't watched it yet, either, but aldeayeah's description is pretty much exactly what my friends have told me about the show's first season. They were a bit more divided on the second season; apparently, the fanservice is really ramped up in it, and many of them disliked that.
My fanfics:
The Gift (F/SN): The last duel between Cú Chulainn and Scáthach.
Passion Acknowledged (F/SN): Shinji X Shirou lemon
He Was a Good King (F/SN): Was Beowulf a good king?
A Fairy Tale of Love and Death (F/SN): A meeting between Scáthach and King Hassan.
Palingenetic Descension (Tsukihime): The origin of the Tohno family's hybrid nature.
So I finally got around to seeing Rise Of Skywalker yesterday. Even hearing some negative reviews I was surprised at how disappointing it was. Bizarre out-of-left-field plot twists (Rey is Palpatine's granddaughter! Even though that was literally never foreshadowed, contradicts the second movie that heavily implied her parents were "nobodies" and doesn't fit with either of their characters), a plot that feels like a video-game fetch quest (find the wayfinders!) and a climax that's physically unpleasant to watch thanks to the frankly inexplicable decision to spam flashy lightning effects everywhere throughout the final battle.
Since I enjoyed the first two movies (even if they sometimes fell into the same issue of trying to ape moments from the original trilogy except bigger and better), it's a shame the denouement turned out so unsatisfying. If anything I guess it just raises respect for George Lucas, given how clearly hard it is to make a complete trilogy of movies (even with huge budget and considerable talent throughout) that doesn't fall on its own ass by the end.
Letting some actual writers plan out the plot does wonders, but these days it seems to be out of vogue.

"Only a Sith deals in absolutes."
I see. So all lawyers and businessmen are Sith Lords. Good to know.

Businessmen should be bound by whatever contract that they are working on. Lawyers should make it clear what specifically a particular law allows and does not allow. If a law is to be appealed, that is the decision of the judge, not the lawyer.

Spoiler:
The main thing about that line is that it's an absolute spoken by a Jedi.
