I was trying to figure out why I remember don't any of this and it turns out that Dragon Ball Z came to the west first, that's pretty funny. It's another case of the scale of the saga not being that great compared to the others.

Spoiler:
The DB anime came first here in Brazil. It wasn't a huge hit, though; the DBZ anime is what put the franchise on the map.

Now we're in the top 5. I actually think I remember some of this, haha.
Spoiler:
I wonder which arc will take the #1 spot - the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai, or the Saiyan Saga?
They're insane. That arc deserved to be #1.

From Kaiserneko:
Remember: We LOVE DragonBall!
Our Top 5 is made up of some of the most amazing stories to come out of the franchise! So whatever takes which spot in these final five, know that the margins are incredibly slim. There are no valleys between entries, merely cracks.
Spoiler:
And now number 1.
Kaiserneko:
Thank you all so very much.
For those of you wondering why this is the last one:
We just feel like it's time! We love talking about our passions, especially DragonBall... but 8 years of these huge countdowns have left us feeling tapped for concepts. While there's plenty of SMALLER topics we could bring up, they'd feel like a step down in terms of content. Plus, these take up a lot of time during fall and into winter, meaning they gotta have a lot of bang for the time we put into'em.
(Also for those asking for anything music related: Copyright bullshit makes that highly unlikely.)
This doesn't mean we're not gonna talk DragonBall anymore, but just don't expect huge blowouts like this during the holiday season. Top 12 Bulma Outfits may end up being a single, significantly shorter video.
And yes, we still do want to make that, and others like it. But it'll be nice not having to put it squarely in December, and to have certain people (read: me) freed up during these months to work on other content. I literally have four X Minutes scripts that need voicing and editing!
People think we're trying to distance ourselves from DragonBall, but we still have ShortZ and HFIL planned, and we'll always nerd out over new DragonBall content. God knows I never shut up about it.
Thank you for your years of support. We literally could not have gotten this far without you.
P.S. Not to leave on a bitter note, but to address something I've seen pop up a few times:
"Why are you sad that [X] is ending if you're the one deciding to end it?"
Because realizing something is at the end of its lifespan doesn't make ending it *easy*.
Sure, it helps make the decision, but why wouldn't we be emotional seeing something we'd spent years on end?
Anyway, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year.
Spoiler:
To-Love Ru Manga Creator Celebrates 530,000 Followers on Twitter By Drawing Frieza from Dragon Ball
Manga creator Kentaro Yabuki, best known for To-Love Ru and the currently serialized Ayakashi Triangle, joked (maybe warned!) that when he reached 530,000 followers on Twitter, he'd draw his own interpretation of manga's most celebrated villain, Frieza from Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super. Having reached the follower count the other day, the Black Cat creator made good on his promise (threat) and released an illustration of the villain–from his beautiful behind.
Spoiler:
Not to pee on anyone’s parade, but I find it kinda too little too late.
This really should have started back in Super at least.
"Here's a bangin lil' tune about takin' on The Man!"
(Check out my Super Special Awesome Servant Compendium here)
It's been "too little too late" for a lot of things in the DB franchise, it's effectively a skeleton coming out of its grave. I'm personally okay with that, we're finally getting teen Trunks and Goten.
Yeah my stance is Super should have had them aged up from the start but at least they are now.
