I'm surprised by how happy this makes me.

And to that, I'd say I trust the mods as people, not as mods per se.

This is what makes the mods here morally and intellectually superior than the mods over at SpaceBattles. I seen some things over there, man. And some stuff. (You know, with a community as large as theirs, I'd expect them to be more careful, but nope. They didn't so much go mad with power so much as it somehow sharply lowered their IQs.

I don't have an account there, but I do read a bunch of Fanfic, and every time a Mod shows up I think "I've seen way worse than this on BL, why is it being locked?".

As someone who doesn't have even a passing familiarity with SB, it doesn't; it doesn't really establish a benchmark for what Mattias considers an apparently frivolous locking by the SB moderators, so I really only have BL as a point of comparison.

Yeah, but the mods themselves act like children, and don't seem to hesitate given an opportunity to use their power. Even if its over something as insignificant as a difference of personal opinions.

Unlike on SB, here I can prove Seika wrong about a subject, and not get immediately permabanned out of revenge. This has apparently happened to more than one person I know.

Of course, this assumes that I could prove anyone wrong about anything, which is a stretch.

Maybe it's the fact that this forum is based around a bunch of porn games, with a heaping helping of disturbing backstories. It means that the people here have higher base tolerance for stuff, unlike SB where porn is explicitly off limits, and things like Kohaku/Sakura's backstories or the Fuyuki Fire would get a thread locked for inappropriate content.

To be fair I've not been too fond of the laxness here at times.

Add on that SB has been around since 1996 and has gone through quite a bit of new faces coming in, turnover and begun to accept some standards, and it's not hard to see why comparing it to BL is a dull exercise.

Considering we can discuss such things in a TM general thread on SB, this is incorrect (though FGO stuff tends to drown out the discussions). Writing such things in fanfics just for the sake of titillation or espousing views similar to LLL is actual banworthy stuff.
