Thanks. So I was right, another Sakura is innocent of everything and Shirou and Rin are monsters for not prostrating themselves before her argument. Squabbling over the legal definition of murder too, with a bit of that anarchism in there for good measure. A real vertical slice of Mike.
2012, huh? Time flies, doesn't it?

Yo someone mentioned this earlier but why did the 7th just straight up die
Call me 想φαγω.
Spoiler:
We do not question the causation of such great favor.
...Basically it's regulars eventually left for discord/twitter. Unlike the TYPE-MOON parts of the forum, there is no inherent draw to the 7th, it's just a place to talk about random bullshit, like any other place on the internet. They're dime a dozen. Once the few remnants from the pre-social media era had left it, there were no one left to use the place as their primary internet discussion ground.
Oh, and it probably didn't help that a lot of the those users were generally held in low opinion by other people in the forum. Perhaps you can tell as much from my tone. I'd like to say a watershed moment was Rodyle being banned, since he held a central position around which a certain crowd of 7th posters congregated. Not really sure though.
Did the posts don't count in the 7th surge because people were spamming there to inflate their own post count?
Call me 想φαγω.
Spoiler:
It is probably for the better since it eventually created a sort of weird 7th-only subculture where people who had no interest in BL or TM itself would gather and draw people there, instead of assimilating into the forum proper. Someone who would have normally been a good GD poster would just disappear into the 7th and that would be that.
He never sleeps. He never dies.
Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.

nobody wants to vocalize it but what kept the 7th active and usually induced longer periods of 7th posting among the BL2 users (since the BL1ers usually remained active regardless) was women being active there
if you can bait them to post there again you will eventually repopulate it like its a terraforming project

im a girl btw
The horrors and effects of the female symbol.
Call me 想φαγω.
Spoiler:
What isn't really talked about is how many of those girls were actually traps. Because there are no girls on the internet.
Joking aside, a lot of real conversations were had in the 7th dimension, more to do with how it was less...structured? I guess that is how I would describe it. Not to say my part in the nonsense was small, but at least during most of my time, the regulars in the 7th dimension were for the most part active members outside of it as well. It wasn't until the later years when posts no longer counted that shitposting turned into some weird modern art exhibit and nobody seemed to give any fucks about why they even got here in the first place.
I would also argue the real hive of nonsense was actually sun's cafe that spanned like 4 different phases because the thread got so ungodly long it broke and had to be remade.
tbh I do like a good offtopic forum in a forum, they usually make up a big part of forum culture. But it has to be active members chilling out. In all the late stage incarnations of the 7th be it BL1 or 2 it eventually just became the old folks home.
Then again that dynamic can be seen in most forums. Wonder if there are papers about these recurring social dynamics before everyone quit using forums
