Personally I just can't get into discord, maybe I just haven't found the good ones but I'm always immediately put off by the level of conversation there. It's always the most basic subjects about whatever the discord is named after, repeated infinitely as more new people come in daily. Nothing ever seems to go beyond surface level.

Going back to TM specifically, I've joined a bunch of TM discords recently and the biggest discussions were about FGO gameplay or Saber characterization in Zero and and all the old and tired arguments that come with it.

Maybe I should try to find a smaller one, but tbh I kinda ignored this whole side of internet interaction until now. The only online community I've been a part of before BL was this chat copying Dollars from Durarara which had like 7 regulars on the BR server lol

damn i know that site. been ages since i last visited it but i really dig the anonymous bar vibes a lot of the chatrooms got. it used to have a Fate RP channel too.

I wouldn't know about forums, but any space where a single user is more valuable than social media gets awful when the regulars get into the thousands. It just feels way too crowded and impersonal.

The grand scheme of things is an entire generation of TM fans whose fandom experience is centered around their dozen favourite Discord servers.

10 years...like you I feel ambivalent about this kind of anniversary.

But I am happy that the future of the forum is secure thanks to Dovac, the mods, and the global following that TM has attracted.

Yeah that was a goddamn trip. It's going to take something real special to get me to do anything close to that again. Though the amount of series that have that kind of runtime are few and far between. 650-ish episodes, plus 4 movies. Gintama is half that runtime. Detective Conan, maybe? Oh, Lupin and Macross both sit around 300 too. Or maybe I say fuck it, and climb the mountain that is classic LOTGH.

LotGH isn't too long, only 110 episodes for the story proper and another 50 or so for the gaidens. The longest thing I've watched recently was Star Trek DS9, and I think that comes out to around 360 anime-sized episodes. I've really got to rewatch LotGH...
