Mcjon01 had some pretty neat ones. Didn't he have the Shinji's head on Tokiomi's body one as well? That one is the most memorable one for me, unless I'm mistaken of course.

Yup. Can agree there. Social media and the platform capitalism that both shaped it and was shaped by it.

My opinion has always been that social media just exposes the tendencies people already have. Echochambers can exist because cliques already exist, mistakes in how algorithms are used are a facet of how fallible people can be with rules enforcement, something I had trouble with, one of the reasons I stepped down despite being absolutely done with the crazy crap.
But social media is imo, just another face of humanity, its unproductive to loathe it without trying to understand the many facets of the people interacting with it.

And happy belated birthday McJon, hopefully many more.

Social media worsened pre-existing issues a whole lot and spread them much wider than ever before. Add that stuff like word count limits and a general limiting of space to express oneself, and social media basically managed to murder any leftovers of nuance that still existed.

I wish twitter could just be erased from human consciousness.

All that's true, but the platforms were also able to manufacture outrage where there wasn't really any before to maximize engagement. The faultlines we're probably there, but the exact issues were partially molded by social media and it's fucked up incentives.
