Comun's post in Questions is actually the first time I've seen the full food dossier laid out (never cared enough to investigate I suppose), and he sounds like a load of shit tbh. And the persistence makes him look even more pathetic.

I made some additional arguments after the post you quoted but you know, don't know the person, wasn't there when it happened. Either way, someone being unlikeable to me doesn't mean anything in and of itself. And it's difficult to guess how the situation would unfold after a main account unban, one would hope it could generate a bit of goodwill but who knows.

Yeah but if you don't know food, you likely don't know you're talking to food. It's why I made the point about him being able to coexist peacefully in the forum in this day and age.

Actually, I agree, but what's more telling is the number of people voting to maintain the ban, which directly refutes that he was hated by many. In fact, MOST people from those days did actually lament his ban and very few celebrated it.

Source: last year we discussed food in the mod forum and to the detriment of my ability to smile on a daily basis I reread every single food post (along with the posts responding to him) from 2012 and all of the ones in 2013, along with all of the posts responding to his final ban, and everything in the mod forum itself relating to food.

I'd say at least half if not more did interact with food. My rough guess would be at least 17 of the yes voters did, counting myself although that was purely on the #notes irc channel. I didn't really witness the drama leading up to his ban as I mostly don't post in General unless I have a question or am looking up something in the Seika doc, if that's even still around but thanks for making that. Still food did help me out with some lore questions now and then on irc, well among others like Leftovers.

People didn't need to dislike food to see that he was being toxic, which is indeed the theme of most of the contemporary discussion of the ban: they wished he hadn't gone out like that, but it seemed inevitable from the way he was posting.

but it's been a long time

if i remember right, the moment i became convinced he was actively trying to get kicked out, was when he started picking fights with you. that was probably the lowest point and made it hard to defend him in the final few days

As for the confusion between the timings of Mike's and food's bans, that's probably caused by the fact that food got his first temp ban while Mike was still a thing.
