food's forum suicide was a lot less spectacular. He was a moonruner and one of the most active holders of powerlevel knowledge on the forum.

For some reason he wanted to quit the forums (studies, fatigue, idk) and didn't get his ban granted, so he started randomly being a dick to people. Then got banned for it, but permanently.

Now he sockpuppets every now and then, posting lore tidbits that get lost whenever one of his accounts gets deleted.

Actually I don't think he asked for a ban beforehand, I mean Seika was given a ban upon request, arai even had like two of his accounts deleted. I think he just shitposted because he was too prideful to ask for a ban.

idk I think he actually did ask, DP was very adamant about not granting bans because it means you have NO DISCIPRINE (until Seika asked anyway)

food was a user who was kinda like Mcjon except he held strong opinions and held his own theories (something Mcjon does not do at least publicly [he actually does have opinions though~]).

Generally, probably to new users he would come off as rude or inconsiderate but he really didn't mean most of it. He also used a lot of derogatory words to describe things (waifu worshipers to describe people he argued against and the term spine crush are the most [in]famous).

He really liked Araya, Touko, BerserCAR, Illya, and 5th Hasan.

Toward the end he had to do something for work (iirc a year before that or a few months before that he was told he was to spend 6 months in the North Pole to collect minerals or something where he would be mostly without internet, but he said he wasn't chosen I always jokingly thought that he actually was and just claimed he wasn't) and couldn't be sidetracked. He requested a temp ban for awhile (as Seika received one on request and arai had his account deleted multiple times) but was refused and so actively tried to get banned by flaming on the first opportunity (as in he literally got banned for flaming like two or three days after he just finished a week or so long temp ban that was also for flaming).

Alright. The general picture seems to be that he did purposely try to get banned, but in the process did genuinely flame.

Actually, that's all a bunch of rumors and hypothesizing people did to try and rationalize why one of the popular users got banned. We had a discussion evaluating his ban in the mod forum last year in which I reread almost all of his posts and then we just asked him in private. It wasn't a suicide, initially he was proving a point about how the mods were shitposting trolls, then eventually the retaliatory warnings and temp bans he got made him bitter enough to start true flaming.

Cold take: Rin is more attractive in Ufotable's style, even if (at least I think) it is not as good as the novel's.

I… actually agree with this though. I found that Takeuchi only really hit his stride around Mahoyo, and everything he made before seemed highly unpolished, a bit like children's drawings, tbh.

It's important to come to everybody's attention that Araya's Dry Cleaner's last post was in What Keeps You Coming to BL, and his last word was "food".

Out of curiosity, if ADC had been producing translations of recent material like he used to, would we have kept him around?
