This probably has less to do with the forum itself and more to do with the increased interconnectivity of users in extra-forum spaces like Discord and Twitter. Remember, the sockpuppet bonanza was all the way back in 2014. It feels strange in hindsight, but BL's really active and exciting period only lasted about 3-5 years.

Break pretty much blew up my Skype every day for a while. Then when that didn't work he tried to press other staff members to see if he could somehow pit us against each other. Of course, that ended up being a joke. I don't remember the details anymore, but he made up some story about how some other staff member said he was allowed back in or something to try and make a wedge. Then he moved on to Spinach.
