Can anyone point me to must-read-topics, important events (I read something about CV? What happened there?), April Fools, important forum figures (and why they're important) and behind-the-scenes GOT-ish politics (oldGodsBL? newGodsBL)?

I will release it if I ever quit due to the shit storm it would create. Anyway posting from phone with 11% battery in several hour long drive so can't post right now.
So I will just post a random event. There used to be a user who had tons of accounts that he would use to false flag arguments. He would occasionally go for pages literally arguing with himself when discovered the mods looked into his pms only to find him having whole conversations about whether or not people discovered him yet.
This is something that happened in like 2007-08 so you could probably ask RK or the other really old users in #beastslair about this.
Kotonoha could probably also give a good description of the infamous pancakes guy.

But I understand the curiosity of new members in the "memes" of BL.
If you're wondering what happened with CV, it was last summer. Kinda. The ban/discovery/Bittergate/shitstorm was, at least.
Basically, there was this user named Bittersweet who acted all cutesy and stuff, and I remember someone calling her BL's moe-est member, or something. I wouldn't know, I joined a bit after the ban. Well, she (or actually, he) was CV as a sockpuppet. Not only that, a bunch of other members knew about this, including a mod. So the Bitter/CV was banned, the members who helped were temp-banned, and the mod had his mod-powers revoked.
There was also a huge shitstorm about this because Bitter's true nature was discovered through looking at her/his/whatever's PMs, so there was conflict over freedom of privacy and what-not. Also, debates over sockpuppets or whatever.

I can't think of many places C_V hasn't been banned from.
Once upon a time, there was a poll forum over here. Sadly, the records related to its disappearance have been sealed behind very closed doors.
