So it's as long as anime movies tend to be normally. Some people were talking about the Kara no Kyoukai movies being as long as two hours and expected the Heaven's Feel movies to be around the same length, so I was just curious. Thanks.
Spoiler:
Was the timeline we could've gotten a single 4+ hour movie something my brain just made up?

I actually wish it had been a series. I prefer watching series to movies.
I guess you can string all 3 movies together once they're all out to make that 6-hour movie.
Now, whether or not it will feel like just one movie is another thing.

I also prefer to watch something as soon as it is available in any capacity than having to wait half a year.
burn your dread you coward
This movie tells me that 6 hours of total runtime would be a mistake. Each movie needs at least an additional 30 minutes, if only to fix the bad transitions and mood whiplashes between the scenes.
The second half of the movie had an insane pacing that really harmed some of the plot points that will be relevant in the upcoming movies.
That's why I prefer series. In the end 24 episodes is a longer run time than three movies, which allows for better pacing.
I would have preferred a series too, so I wouldn't have to deal with this theatre nonsense.

...and so, the slow but inevitable descent from almost universal appreciation to almost universal loathing (typical of any anime adaptation in existance) has finally begun.
Fans do this kind of evaluation every time, and they are usually completely wrong.
UBW was a 25 episodes series with 3 double lenght episodes, so it was at least 9 hours long, and people still complained that it was rushed.
Also, anime adaptation have a completely different pacing problem, that is "cutting the story in exactly 24/25 pieces of 20 minutes, each one that end in a cliffhanger or with a definite conclusion", and that's one of the reasons I prefer movies.

Eh, don't pay too much attention to me. I'm just overreacting.
HF series will ve very fricking slow anyway. In UBW, like cutting in the middle between Emiya and Shirou fight really make it lost the impact. Not to mention sometimes they just make it long so they can make it end at start of a fight
