I just finished watching the second movie. I haven't really been following the discussion so I don't know what people think of it, but honestly it was mostly ok. Sometimes it felt like a montage of all the highlights without really explaining what was going on.

I don't like the framing of the Sakura scene at the start, in the VN the motivation for killing her is mainly framed around Zouken being in control of her. The whole "she can't control her magic!!!" felt like weak reasoning and just diminishes the impact of Shirou's decision.
That said, the Berserker fight looked nice and I liked how they framed the Archer scenes.
Ilya shopping being in a montage was very dumb though. At least that scene with Ilya overhearing Taiga was nice (don't really remember if this was in the VN).

Anyway, all I hope now is they do Kirei vs Shirou justice.

That was also a thing in fate classic, just most people tended to ignore it because they hate how nasu likes to break his own rules

No Tobias, this was one thing very much clear in the VN, what with the whole metal gong noises whenever she was hitting him with her IA-clad sword. If you want to argue that her beating Herk meant using golden-charged Excalibur or something else, sure, but not once in the VN during that fight did Saber actually wound Herk.

Didn't they skip that somewhere? I think it was when Shirou biked to the Church, while at the same time Sakura slipped out the house to try to confront Zouken.
