If they were to do that, I fear they might end up inserting sparks liner high somewhere in there, given it is meant to be the "that one big fight" if they wanted to expand on Shirou's role.
Then again, they might not. The fight is meant to parallel Saber v Rider in Fate, so Shirou being on the backseat until the end would be fine IMO

Besides, the problem it's, how you do it without Shirou ending dead? But to me would be cool watching it in the movie.
Similar to how Emiya could just use UBW v. Shirou in the TV show, they'll do it if they think its cool to see

Im thinkng more like Shirou throwing KBs or shooting caladbolgs to give Rider openings. Playing backline support.
I think they'll play up Shirou's role and have him cast Triple Linked Crane Wings. I'd rather Medusa got the spotlight, though.

Medusa originally was worn out because Saber was regenerating from the hits, it was like chipping at a glacier.
If anything, I would hope they show Rider's speed much better. Putting in Sparks Liner High would definitely take away from that.
Hell, if anything, it was weird in SLH that she didn't blast away K&B like she did Rider's chain spike, when she was breaking sets of them like paper moments before.

I think it was plainly obvious that Arturia was in there even though she was turned. Otherwise she would not have been subtly trying to encourage Shirou in various ways despite clearly being in a position to kill him multiple times.
She could have just used Morgan and ended it in a single blow, but refused to use it against Shirou himself, and even told him to directly to quickly end her before she could regenerate when he gained the upper hand.

I have a feeling Saber vs Rider will be the "S. Alter vs Herc" battle of Spring Song considering it's the last real Servant vs Servant clash left (and we all know how much Aniplex values these considering FGO). Hopefully they don't insert in a half assed version of SLH during the fight, if you want to do SLH, then do a full fledged bonus OVA version of it or don't do it at all. Plus Rider waited all this time to shine, it would be pretty heartbreaking if they took away her already super rare crowning moments.
I think they'll get away with more "Saber vs Herk" type fights in this one.
The last couple of days are pretty much made the fight scenes in them.
There's still some non-fights to cover but it's minimal in comparison to parts 1 and 2.
The build-up is pretty much all there. We just need the payoff, those are the fight scenes in the last 2 days.

Everyone in here seems focused on the Rider+Shirou VS Saber Alter fight, but for me, while sure to be cool, it's still just one of many Servant fights that are still bound to me somewhat similar to things we've seen so many times before in the various adaptations so far, so it's nothing that special to me. Personally I'm a lot more interested in the prospect of finally getting to see an animated version of the mano o mano slugfest final showdown between Shirou and Kirei, hopefully complete with a badass remix of Light and Darkness playing in the background, something I've dreamed of getting to experience for years, long before the HF movies were announced.

if with "slugfest" you mean "Kirei keeps hitting Shirou really hard while Shirou is unable to do anything until the very end".

I'm also the most excited for the animated version of the manliest bout of fisticuffs to ever grace the Nasuverse.
Tbh I'm more interested in Rin vs Sakura.

Ufotable better keep the allegory of the final fight alive. Shirou doesnt attack his foes, whether they are people or value systems, he just perseveres until the enemy gives up or dies trying.
Shirou being a determinator as a person is paramount to the Kirei vs Shirou fight. I hope they dont loose that in the process of trying to make it 'more epic'.
More epic unfortunately, is kinda where they're going
