Well, the obvious difference between .hack//SIGN and Overlooking view is that .hack//SIGN has an interesting and obvious conflict from episode 1.

Meanwhile, in Overlooking View the main conflict is that Mikiya has been taking a very long nap. Except you have to kind of figure that out for itself until the very end when they finally come out and tell you. Also there have been deaths. The nature of the death is unknown at first and maybe the Not Ghosts hanging out near this building have a connection or maybe not. More importantly let's make fun of Tokyo suicide announcements. Written for Nasu's eyes only indeed.

I personally wouldn't mind if the movies didn't stand on their own. All I'd have to do is watch them all at once, after all.

The attack itself will probably flash by until the final strike, it's the build-up to it that's the important part.

That doesn't necessarily mean it would be a good idea to make the movie(s) with that in mind, since they have to first make people sit through them all in theaters.

i'd expect an expanded HF..maybe things that were shown in HFA to be put in here and there, like maybe rider's past. KnK was an expanded adaption too...so i have no doubt they'll do a good job

I mean, condensing the plot in a movie formatis already a difficult task without expanding it as well.

And yet Nanoha movie 1 pulled it off magnificently.
Mostly because the original series wastes like 6 episodes so they only have to cut 4 hours to 2. Hardly comparable.

I love it because of animated fights hype , and because I know the source material. but the movie raised questions that wouldn't be answered until the 3rd movie. and aside of getting Fuuka,not much was done (tartarus grind, and fight bosses, also Makoto slowly learning to give more than zero fucks, also friendship with creepy bedroom stalker shota)

@Laith iirc i liked A's movie, sure it cut out a subplot, but otherwise it was fine, and they made the final fight actually seem like a FIGHT , and not just a static show of everyone showing off their strongest attack.
Also movie 1 cut out monster of the week stuff and onsen stuff, but it also added tons of Fate backstory .
People from other forums can't distinguished a theatrical format from a theatrical feature. Terrible.
