It was my first time paying for SQ in this game, and it was following pretty bad rolls on the Da Vinci gatcha, so I tried my luck at getting something guaranteed

Not saying Nasu changes his mind later, but DC and Marvel had official crossovers several times. Hell, they created an entire universe of their universes meshing with each other (Amalgam) and several other seasonal crossovers (and one that was testing the water in the event that Marvel ended buying DC in the 80s, and then DC considering buying Marvel Comic in the 90s/early 00s). You just don't see them now because their new management (WB/AT&T, Disney) are at a time where they are trying to maximize the IPs they have without empowering the competition.

Nasu's reasoning does make sense given that he doesn't want to open that particular door on the IP, but its not like it is this impossible scenario that will never happen in the future.

They did. It was called Access, which immediately followed DC vs Marvel. They also had crossovers like Batman & Spiderman vs Joker & Carnage.
