The bronze chests have bones, so yeah pretty much farm the Mokumoku Mountain (the one that shows a mountain with a big cloud). It's really worth it even with RNG involved. You also get silver chests that can give you seashells, which are annoying to farm too and pretty much any Swimsuit Servant will force you to spend them.

If you can use all the chest mats, then stick with the event. If you only need 1 or 2 of all the mats, free quests can be better if you don't also need arrowheads or reactor cores.
