Hey, they fixed the duel between Micheal and Don so that they actually fight one on one instead of Micheal getting his soldiers to rain arrows and firing cannons at Don.
In at least one version that I can remember, Irene’s name is translated into JPN as “エレナ” same as Helena’s.
Not saying I support the err, I guess it’s technically not syncretism but fusing if Irene and Helena I guess. But considering that Ivan gets lightning powers because of a mistranslation from Russian, it wouldn’t be the furthest reach in the world.

It's just they (yelena and irene) phonetically sound kinda similar so easy for people to make the mistake and then everyone parrots each other.
It honestly makes sense in a way. They both have high compatibility. While Holmes solved mysteries of mundane and logical nature, Helena attempted to solve Mystery closer to the TM conceptual definition, and in TM at least, got pretty close to doing so.
But this game already has a playable Irene Adler.
