You need 900 coins to max a Servant now, so assuming you aim for Bond 15 (gives you 180 coins), this is the total copies you need to now fully max your favorite Servant (both level 120 and all append skills):

- 5* Servants: NP8
- Limited and Story-Locked 4* Servants and Angra Mainyu (assuming wiki is right): NP15 (only needs Bond 14 here)
- Non-Limited 4* Servants and Limited/Story-Locked 3* Servants: NP24

Naturally, if you're not aiming for Bond 15 you will have to get extra copies.

It might just be because we have less people posting here now, but on this site's FGO thread specifically, it doesn't have that much meltdown and doomposting as last year, I feel.

It's not that big of a deal, you just get one more option that wasn't there before. I also wisely saved up my Arc coins so I'm ready for this. I have never and will never put a penny into this or any other free to play game so I haven't lost anything.

Last year was mostly because they released nothing special and some people didn't like Tonelico as the Anniversary unit. This year is because of an actual system change that worsened an issue people already had with coins, a change that most people has seen as a greedy attempt to get more people to roll copies of Servants they have already maxed.

Up to last year, people were still expecting Anniversary to have something good, something that can make most of the player base feel excited and make the game somewhat better. Perhaps a story update tease. Perhaps a big positive QoL update. Perhaps a new meta defining unit. Perhaps a universally liked Servant. Perhaps a big batch of bronze servants. Perhaps fucktons of SQs. Last year's Anni was a rare moment when an Anni has been polarizing and arguably negative, and that already set the expectation for this one.

The Japanese are capable of throwing away their money to get dozens of useless copies of the same Servant, they are the perfect masochists for this, if they are successful with their complaints congratulations and if not they will continue feeding the beast and I have not one bit of sympathy for that.

i fail to see how it is a cashout
i can see the salt if you want your arcueid to 3turn instead of 4turn, but she has not gotten any weaker since this update either so its mostly overreaction
and unlike the 8th, anniv servant pick is actually good and summer 9 is definitely more anticipated than summer 8
lack of qol is to be expected at this point, one has to wonder if they just gave up in preparation for part 3, its unfortunate but it is what it is

Nah, this just furthers my belief that Angra will take his seat in due time. In fact, I think Olga will become Beast VII:L.

Btw, I assume this is the massive teasing Nasu did back then with a Beast that isn't from PHH. I don't think we're getting Camazotz anymore after this, at least not as a Beast.

There was never any guarantee he'd be playable as a Beast-class Servant anyway. He's the Beast of Oblivion, perfect to summon him as Avenger with Oblivion Correction.

I have to say, knowing that this game's Part 2 will 100% end in 2025, it makes me realise why we're just getting so many collab Servants right now.

Knowing that some slots are taken by usual events (Guda guda, Summer, Valentine and then story chapters plus Olga stuff) they already know the time slots they can release stuff, so if Nasu wanted to release specific units from other Type Moon works in FGO this is now the time to start doing it.

The fact Space Eresh gets released as an Anniversary Servant instead of creating the third chapter of Servantverse to make a trilogy, which would have fitted more as a final chapter taking into account her class, means that they can't probably slot the event in any place so there she goes, Anniversary unit. And I feel the same for Ciel, tbh, he wanted her to be released already because there's no timeslot available for a Tsuki collab so they just added her in Summer.

I don't think Summer is really the best event to release her, and it would be specially more obvious if Part 2 gatcha doesn't have Arc and the Summer event is not a Tsuki collab in disguise, with Ciel appearance just being there because. I would like to be proven wrong of course, but man, it really feels like they are rushing to release what they wanted to release in FGO as soon as possible.

I think a Tsuki collab is even more likely now, actually. Ciel had to come out before one if there was any chance of getting out most of the Tsuki cast in one collab's worth of banners.

I think it's kinda messed up to point and laugh at the whales for getting screwed by this, when the game actively encourages you to unlock all three appends and then burn your remaining coins for Grails.

There was no indication that coins could be used for anything else besides that and grailing. Anyone who saved them was being lazy, (ssemingly) paranoid, or was just wise enough to predict Lasengle to make the most scummy, money-grubbing move they could.

Also, thinking about it, this basically makes Grail casting impossible unless you only care about using a tiny handful of servants. What a stupid fucking idea.

I think I've mentioned this before when they introduced Appends that there was room for more. And I think I did say that the maths would've shown that NP10 is the exact threshold needed for 5* Servants to get everything unlocked. Man, it's been so long, I don't remember already. Either way, I knew they could add more but was hoping they did it in a better way than "spend more Servant Coins".

Also, we've always known that Servant Coin systems are whale systems. The fact that we needed 6 copies minimum to get the first 3 Appends unlocked as well as reach lvl 120 was already whale enough since F2P should be expected to only own at most one copy of any gacha Servant, luck notwithstanding. That being said, no follow-up pre-announcement that they'll add more, no two "WIP" icons to show potential additional Append skills, no follow-through for people who simply assumed that they only needed what they needed for Appends and levels and anything more was extra and can be freely spent on grailcasting. Not even a new coin gathering system to reduce the complaints they might receive with the announcement. It's just poor planning and either reeks of rushed development or downright dirty business practice. Or maybe both. They needed to push their big thing now and will only finish the coin system (or whatever they may have to alleviate this problem) for NY or something.

Either way, Servant Coin system has always been for the whales who don't see rolling NP20 of their waifus/husbandos as a huge expense. Anyone else probably will get shafted. It's just that we didn't have more than one Append that we feel was necessary to unlock. Oh, and it sets a dangerous precedent that they can keep adding new systems without first providing a suitable alleviation for the F2P commonfolks.

Xenophobia has nothing to do with telling the truth. I'm not even just talking about those kids who make 50 copies of a Servant to show their love, at least not just them. You think this is the most ruthless gacha the Japanese are willing to play? Nah, it doesn't even come close.

Yeah, that just happened to me. I had a surplus of Habetrot coins after I maxed her fully and I decided to burn them since the game recommended it to me. This sucks...

There are many people who don't believe that Part 2 will be the end and others who believe that the servers will still be up and running even if it is.
