I've settled on using the few NP2 Merlin that appear in my list. A little slower, but less chance of dying.

Will a strong Gil support with lb ushi be useful to me? I don't have merlin...

A level 90 Gilgamesh with level 15 LB Ushi CE and only relying on self-buffs will deal 275k minimum to the hands or 183k to the hands, depending on whether or not they're weak to Ea. Are there any other buffs to account for?

Probably just going to drop to 1BP. Gem drops are too infrequent for me in 2BP 3M and 3BP, and the other mats are more common in faster to farm free/daily nodes.

I've found that it is good to not cash in your Saint Quartz fragments. It's like they don't exist so you aren't tempted but in a time of need - instant boost.
