I think the idea is just that meeting Caren is something so ingrained in him now that it ends up being showcased for his Bond 10, and from there that ends up being the effect. Like it doesn't make that he has an ability to do that, it's just the sublimation of what Caren did to him.

Then again, I wouldn't expect Herc to really remember Illya, and his Bond CE is... what, Illya's memories of that one winter?
Maybe it's reading too much into early Bond CE design and they just wanted him to have a conceptually cool, but ultimately "useless" effect.
That's kinda what his gameplay is all about after all, it's weird and cool and... not very good.

As someone with a maxed out Angra Mainyu, I'd argue that his Bond CE is still useful. Anti-Beast is just a niche bonus to push out more damage if the target is Beast on top of the Guts effect that allows him to survive a little longer and do more damage. I played him more like an anchor and I still see his anchor situation as more beneficial than not. If anything, I think his NP is the useless one between the two. It doesn't push the gameplan that his S3 wants to push nor does it provide a bigger benefit to him in any meaningful way. Even if you use his NP after the first 2 cards, you're losing out on the Extra attack and a card to push more damage immediately as well as the added bonus of generating stars. Not only that, his NP doesn't cause the enemy HP to break so what's the point of it other than a meager healing effect for a hefty downside that isn't relevant?

Angra's kit feels like it was meant for pre-EoR eras where enemy bosses didn't have multiple Break bars and insane buffs from their own kit and the Break effects to ramp up their damage and survivability even further. The second buff on his S3 only added the ability to go Mighty Chain with him instead of just doing BQQ all the time and doing slightly more damage in the process but doesn't address any of his issues. Maybe OC Epilogue will add his NP upgrade and he can finally do more and allow his S3's Guts selection to have any real meaning.

Adding onto my own opinion above, RaiSe posted a video regarding the buff and his thoughts on it in the comment section.

The main reason for this upgrade is that Mighty Chain (BQA) has strong reinforcement elements, so there's no need to choose BQQ. Without Guts, you can adjust to replace with the person behind you with the instant death effect, so I think the range of usage has increased! Please look forward to Anri Mayu's success in chapter 4 and FGO fes!

TBH, I don't think I'd run him just to swap him out by killing him on Turn 5. Feels extremely wasteful and bosses should already be doing that on their own. But maybe there's a way in which it has merit?

Made looping setups for all the Grand candidates I need to bond farm. Luckily I'm set until Lancer and Cavalry so I have time. I also tore through the free grails they handed out and realized I'm gonna need a lot more this year if they release the Servants I'm anticipating.

Apparently Richard can easily farm the Vritra node with the BB Ciel comp. I thought it might need NP2, but this can be done at NP1 with a command spell to charge up his NP in third wave.

sure, if the situation calls for it
there are a few servants who benefit reasonably well from Lilith's alignment application
most notable is probably arcueid

It doesn't really matter from a practical perspective. Usually there is only one enemy in a wave with enough HP that you need Arcueid to hit her super-effective damage. She can kill the small ones without it.

BHG Arcueid + Oberon + Lilith can take out 90** avenger node which is the closest you'll get to "cheap" bond farming without using Ciel and sticking to only 1 meta characters (either you bring your own Arcueid or Oberon, both are pretty shitty options tbh)
Specifically Lilith NP into Arc NP is mad value
62.5% supermod alone is comparable to any meta support sans BHG Oberon

i tested 120/4 and 120/5, pretty much maxed Arc's
120/4 can leave pretty big chunk on in wave 1, so i would look at 120/5 to see whether its guaranteed kill, effectively guaranteed kill or does it leave a room for the mob to survive
wave 1 is the main bottleneck, in wave 2 Arc alone will do well over 3 mil
CS is not used, so if your Arc is weak, you can farm manually with CS when you have pots to burn and otherwise do an easier node

using my own Oberon to farm Avenger node and borrowing (my own) 120/4 Arc is a bit too much trouble for me

... I'll stick to my lvl 100 NP1 Ciel + NP1 Merlin + support Koyan of Light then. I don't need massive investment to be able to clear 90** Avenger (thank gods) and I can more easily fish for a support Koyan of Light with MLB Teatime.

I've passed the breakpoint when progressing to 2k/2k Fou where Ciel's Buster 1st in this setup can already kill the middle golem on Turn 1. I think I needed ~1600 Fou Atk or so? That means that, even if I don't crit the Buster 3rd, I'm still able to nuke the weak golem on the very next turn. Ofc, it's not FGA-optimized but I don't FGA anyways so it works for me.
