Btw, about the new QoL, they're honestly a good example on how lazy DW is right now. New gift box animation and being able to go to the next chapter after replaying one without going back to menu. Why exactly was this so important that it had to be done first?
I mean that instead of improving other things that IMO really need improvement, like the whole friend support list, they though that the features I mentioned had to be done first.
There's so many things that I wish DW would just tackle that would honestly improve the game, but unfortunately that's not happening.
Once the update happens, the gift box will get fat when it reaches 350 items.
Basically animation changes depending on how many items are in the box. Why this is important that it has to be done above other things escapes my mind.
The filter is okay I guess, but not really something that was absolutely needed to have. It's very easy to notice the silver Fous when scrolling the sea of gold EXP that people probably have after the lotto, the color makes them very noticeable.
It's called QoL. Like, we could not have filters for our CEs and still find the CEs we want. But it takes time and slows down the whole process of doing something. This is the same way; it just helps accelerate the process of searching for things you want to grab out of the box and just grab them out. Like grabbing all the silver EXP from the box without touching the golds.

Also, the way the present box and that are done, I feel like it's meant to warn people about how full their present box is and facilitate ease of removal of rubbish items that're in the present box. So you don't hit cap and now start losing items from login or whathaveyou.

You're free to disagree on that of course, but I myself don't feel like I needed it right now. It would have been nice to have this during or right after the lotto though, not now. It will certainly be useful in the next lotto though.
The gift animation is an update nobody asked for, and same for being able to watch the next story without going back to the menu. If somebody is going to watch the story, they're going to do it through Youtube because you don't have to deal with constant loading times there, which I'm sure they won't fix for watching the story.
Again, my second paragraph kinda reveals their intent in the two QoL update. They're a pair, after all.
As for the continuous story thing, it's better than watching it on Youtube. Because, let's be real, who here actually prefers to watch it outside of the game client after you finish with the story? We either watch it when playing the game or prefer to skip it and ignore it altogether. Or wait for the NA version to be done and posted online but that's because you're not playing the NA version to begin with. It's the problem of Destiny where most of their lore and backstory for stuff are actually outside the game, in the Codex or whatnot that they have. How many people access it to learn of it? Not many. If it's in-game then it's more accessible. Besides, most people that watch the story videos on sites like Youtube either don't play the game or don't moonrunes so they rely on third-party or official translations to understand what's happening. And if that's the case, they'd just skip the in-game story to begin with.

The whole point I'm saying here is that DW put priority to something that really wasn't important at all instead of other QoL updates that we really need. Nobody asked for that box animation upgrade nor for being able to continue to the next story without going back to menu, let's be honest here. You would think that first priority would be to actually do things that the playerbase asks for first to improve their overall experience, which is why they are called QoL upgrades.
Who's telling them who wants what? Also, what makes you think the devs are doing QoL updates only for the majority? Like, we got the DoT effect on Servants. That's nice. But who does it benefit as a QoL? It's the small group of people who appreciate having relatable effects on their screen. Because, realistically, it doesn't impact most of the players who're playing the game.
Also, what dictates a QoL update? That it has to be what the so-called majority wants? Or that it improves the game by a little bit, be it for that minority who might need it or otherwise? Because, for me, I don't think it's the former.

And yes, I'm perfectly fine with our current support list. It's not broken so I don't know what you guys are upset about that it needs some sort of QoL update stat.

so they should have never put this qol live?
we don't really know what dw is working on rn, maybe they are slacking, or maybe the more interesting qol things are harder to do, which takes more time; this qol could have been in progress since last week or last year, it could have been made by 1-2 persons (low priority) while other 10 are working on something else
or they really put all resources to this small update, but how can we tell that

IMO, as long as the update is not a net negative, then it's fine. Sure, it's not game-changing or world-shattering but as long as someone out of the millions of players gain a benefit from it, it's good enough for me. After all, there's more pressing matter to want like CQs and more quartz and news for upcoming events.
