My best guess for 2020' late boost is 2 not wanting to lose the yearly bonus. And now he's back twiddling thumbs in his ass till Nasu grace him with anything. Horse girls holding 70-day streak doesn't help either (summer will be sports-themed with Caenis as the lead, just you wait).
Basically, according to Kanou in an interview Servants get animation upgrades when they agree with TM about it, which is usually when Servants have an important role in an event or main story. The reason some of the Servants in this collab didn't get one despite getting costumes is probably because all of them were side characters, the main characters were Miss Crane, MIXA, and maybe Mashu and MIXA's idol team (and all of them already have AU).
Which means that if you're hoping for Phantom or Erik's AU for example, good luck!

Eehh..
Among them, who have neither AUs nor costumes yet before this collab were... Shuten, Nitocris, Helena, and Serenity. Shuten, Nitocris, and Helena are unique enough imo not to warrant AUs, but Serenity could really use some more flair. Oh well.
Thanks for the answer.

Is it weird that you stop playing a game when there's nothing to do anymore?

The only time I'll be going around shouting doomsayer stuffs is if xNaya quits.
Witness The Power Of The... Suicide Squad?
Honako, Plushie, and Ryou Emerald quitting would be even more disheartening. Naya is a whale who sustains themselves off of new characters, and those have already dropped to a trickle. The prior three base themselves around fighting everything and anything using their single favorite or a few favorite Servants—them quitting would mean the game had run out of fights
Poor Plushie, last April was specially bad for him as he was stuck with repeating the Kiara fight over and over to provide content for his channel. Green has alt accounts so he can replay stuff, but he also was stuck at repeating the dragon fight in Gil's fest or the Lobo fight in EoR to try the SQs we got (fun times seeing him being forced by his chat to solo the dragon with Jeanne, he nearly got killed right at the end after a long fight).
Honestly I just always thought that F/GO would die after it added something so monumentally stupid to the lore that the fans rose up in outrage, but I guess it'll be the last whimper of the strangled instead of a bang in the end.

This is how you know the collab was bad. Didn't even take 24 hours into the dead week before people starting doomsaying.
Game isn't dying. If it gets "dangerous", #2 will just get fired and they'll try another guy's vision/path instead. But it isn't going to just die.
Nah, the doomsaying was still happening during the event, it's just that now that the event is over it's more visible since there's nothing in the game right now.
We are also getting more posts of people denying that FGO has issues right now, even blaming the 11-roll as one of the causes that they lost money which is good for a laugh.
I don't think there'd be a lore thing so bad that most fgo new, or casual fans would drop it. Or rather, it doesn't matter in a sense? No content and bad reward loops?...
Well, mainly the no content part. It's a famine situation more than anything, considering it's pretty easy to maintain something on momentum (as FGO I'd argue has already proven). You just need a light breeze to keep the sails going.
Well, the game is dying in a way. I mean, once Nasu steps down it's likely to go on a downward spiral.
On another topic, apparently MHX Alter's song for the event topped Amazon Music's charts. That's cool.
