Honestly I'm more interested in the twins and that mystery woman in the mirror. Hopefully the second gacha won't be too powerful.
if Caenis wasn't gender bent that means Poseidon was an utterly piece of shit for not granting her wish.

I like Caenis for how bad he is at fighting despite all his boast and having Posi's powers. Pretty fun when the New Argonauts thrashed him thoroughly once they figure out how to bypass his invincibility and him screaming like a dog as he got disposed by the twins.

Not as far as I know, Hollow never says anything about Athena. Euryale and Stheno are the eternally beautiful ones while Medusa was born wrong and was going to grow old. I don't think there's any mention of Athena apart from some stuff with Lily being her priestess I think, but I never bothered to read Lily's profile and Mats.

If nothing else, the ambiguity of whether or not Caenis transitioned in Fate is unfortunate because you know people are going to use it as an excuse to refer to him with female pronouns. Hopefully that'll be a minority of the fandom, but some places are already pretty bad about refering to him as her.
On a more personal note, that part of his profile does pretty much kill any hope I still had that one of Caenis's ascensions would feature his male body. I knew it was very unlikely from the start since female fanservice brings in the big bucks, but FGO's ascension system is perfectly suited to representing that foundational aspect of his myth, and it would've added a really cool twist to Caenis as a unit.
Technically it's still possible since we haven't seen any of his ascension artwork, but it seems unlikely that Ceanis would have his transition represented in-game while having a profile that casts doubt on it happening in lore. I would be more than happy to be pleasantly surprised though.
