You forgot rewriting the prose and dialogue from scratch so the English version doesn't make Higashide sound like a dry Wikipedia writer and character voices are conveyed in the unique forms each of them is supposed to take.

I've been reading the previous translations for Volume 1, 2, 4 and what is done for 3, and I'll keep the Anime in mind as I do the write up. Hopefully the characters are not dry. Also some times it switches between first and third person between paragraphs, I assume I just need to rewrite it to be one over the other.
The others have from what I've read stuck to third person.
I think you're severily underestimating the difference between human and machine literary translations.
Damn, guy sounds like he's got a point!
Not with posters like LeperKing around.
That's ok. Bouts of narcissism are pretty par for the course... Oh. Oh no, he's delirious!
Last Encore opinions are the true IQ test.
Nasu himself said it.
Well look I'm just taking a shot in the dark, I'd rather see about having the five volumes complete than 3 and 5 being eternally unfinished. I could just post the machine translations here and yet everyone who wants to take a crack at it. Yet me know if anyone's interested. To be fair a redditor came up with a translation which reads pretty well based of these machine ones.

[MTL removed]
that's what the redditor did six years ago there's also a prologue I found. At least it's a start.

Look, the issue here is that it might read well to you (as in, having proper grammar, sentence structure, and flow) but that doesn't mean it becomes a good translation. MTL can't convey proper context, tone, inferences in text, or even slightly more complicated sentence structure. The fact that you could edit the resulting English to "look right" doesn't mean it is right. If I take someone's dogshit math exam answer and add in neat presentation for all the formulae, fancy signs for the units, and just generally structure it well, yeah, chances are someone who doesn't know anything about math will look at it and go "yeah that looks like math alright", but it's still dogshit and incorrect.
Honestly, it'd almost be better to beg for someone to finish the translation than to use MTL. At least at that point there's some level of standards intact.
He's got da faiyaaaa
