Relevant to that, I played a game today with a Pharah named Skylesbian, and I don't think you can have a better Pharahname than that.

The creators actually getting their ideas for their own characters out, rather than letting the fandom run away with whatever they've made up? Actually making the characters make sense, Mercy and Genji actually having met in the lore, and not just "hey these two can fly, sort of, and they look cute together, let's make them a couple".

Man, Beast's Lair is just nerds and powerlevels, nobody's unironically yelling at Nasu when he genderbends the next historically tree-trunk-man into a tiny fragile lady with a saberface, or doesn't remember something he's already said about the lore, or upsets the powerlevels when he brings in a new ridiculously stronk character.
Actually, there's Dartz, and Mike, but they're both gone, apparently for good.

People would be mad no matter what choice Blizzard makes. Ultimately, what people make up for their headcanon ships is fanon either way, so nothing's stopping them from keeping on as they were. I understand the desire for recognition, but there comes a point where you've got to realize that in anything with a semblance of a story or plot you're not going to get everything you want. As we can no doubt see with our own depraved lemon contest, there's nothing stopping people from ignoring canon if they think it makes a good story.
Or good porn.

2. I dunno that I'd be so quick to say that Blizzard's writing is better than rando tumblr people, I've played some Blizzard games in my day
3. I didn't read that post nor do I know or care about OW lore, but someone on a podcast I listen to mentioned a Bliz writer tweeting about Mercy/Roadhog and that's pretty hilarious
