You're kidding. The trailer made it look so average! I'll keep your rec in mind, then.

It's nothing revolutionary or anything, you can see most of the plot points coming a mile away, but it's really enjoyable nonetheless. If you like classic Disney stories, definitely give it a look.

Saw the Joker. Gotta say a whole lotta noise over nothng. Pretty tame despite all the hysteria, and really not as good as GAMERS claim either. All in all it was p good, but this whole political tug o war made me expect something more I guess.
That's the Oscars in a nutshell there Toby.
Last Oscar winner I saw was Shape of Water, and that was only because I like Del Toro. Before that, Argo.

The Joker was really great. I'm not really informed about the whole controversy, but based on the film's content I can guess why. But who fucking cares. It was just an enjoyable thriller.
IT and Joker ending dissapoint me a bit. Maybe the last time I watch something in Cinema this year. Both have good build up but then, near the end don't stick well with me especially when they try to make things bigger than it should. I don't really like the part when this Joker self pity over his life at the stage, instead of making mess up joke before killing the host even thouhg I know this should be before he become the Joker
Still much better than Leto Joker

What was the controversy around Joker? I caught hints here and there but I've no clue what's it about.
My initial thought is that that people miss the point then.
Neurotics, characterized by repression, aren't known for acting out their fantasies.
What we could wonder about is how have we arrived at a situation where "loser" men fantasize about becoming a psychotic cause of chaos in society. That is, if there's any men who truly do get off of Joker.
There are, undoubtedly. And while I don't think it will have a meaningful impact on mass shootings and similar either way, considering there are many, MANY more available sources of the same discourse, I find it extremely disappointing that both the director and the main actor ran away from frank discussions about the movie.
I haven't seen Joker, but from what I've heard it's less "gamer's rise up" and more "Occupy Wallstreet with guns". Less about random mass killings and more about the rich getting richer off of the backs of the masses.

Either, people have forgotten about Harley Quinn, or this word has lost all meaning. It's like that episode of Malcolm in the Middle where the eldest son was convinced that his mother is an alcoholic, based on her behavior, despite the fact that she doesn't drink.
"J-j-j-joker has had sex in the comics!" is a very interesting approach to the discussion whether this particular movie is about incels rising up.
The first half was good. The second half was a disappointment.
He never sleeps. He never dies.
Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.
Finally watched Spider-Man: Far From Home tonight.
It was a fun movie but did anyone else think it kind of sabotaged its own twist by billing Gyllenhaal's character as Mysterio from the get-go? Given Mysterio was the name of a villain in the comics it kind of gives away that his stint as a superhero is just a ruse. If not for that it could've been a quite cool and unexpected twist, but as is I was pretty much waiting for the other shoe to drop through the whole first half of the movie.
