You're in luck! Beast's Lair has a user-ranking situation for just these sorts of times. You can unlock the next tier of coloring by creating a second account.
In full seriousness, after I got soft banned for sockpuppeting I was able to later acquire a golden nickname and a black nickname
but for different reasons
Orange means soft-banned my guy
(Tho some legends speak of asking the right people on a special day will get you a color, as long as its not one with a specific role)
I feel like it wouldn’t be that bad to change things around here a bit, honestly. I’m sure there are a few people here who’d be happy to make margin-sized Moderator, Administrator and Inactive banners. And the Banned colours could just be made less pretty so that Red and Orange could be made available.
I mean, as far as rocking the boat goes, being allowed to choose a username colour would be that big a change, right?

If users could pick their own colors then new folk who didn’t know the system would plausibly not be able to recognize it when a mod or admin was telling them to stop acting like a jack ass, opening up tiresome arguments about however whoever in question didn’t realize a member of the team was talking to them.
hell I doubt it would be to long before even old hats started trying to play the “oh, gee sorry, the thread was moving so fast I didn’t realize you were a mod, :3!” Card. As it stands missing someone talking to you in a much brighter and more noticeable color goes in the books as “your own damn fault” but it would be annoyingly harder to argue if the forum was a veritable rainbow
Let anybody choose their own color but make mod and admin usernames size 80 font, there I fixed it
