Not quite. That was part of the Huahujing propaganda back in the early days of Buddhism in China, to try and elevate Taoism. Think of it like how Christianity demonized gods of other religions as demons. It got shutdown really fast by not only emperors but Taoist masters who had a brain tho.
But ever since Huizong emperor tried to syncretize (read: abolish) Buddhism into Taoism without causing worse conflicts, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are understood to be Xians of Golden rank coming from India. Works like JTTW and Fengshen Yanyi sometimes depict Buddhas and Bodhisattvas with Xian titles, referring to them as Xians from the West who has equal rank as Yuanshi Tianjun, Laozi. Gautama Buddha is referred to as Dajue Jinxian (Golden Xian of Great Enlightenment) for example, and is either an avatar or a disciple of Cundi Bodhisattva, or incarnation of Dipankara Buddha (who appeared in JTTW as a Buddha respected by the Xians).
Considering Nasu going with JTTW and Fengshen lore, it is most likely that if he wants to go syncretism, he will go with the whole "Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are Xians (not Zhenren) who attained enlightenment and opened a new religion comparable to Taoism", not the Laozi one. It would also be a nice play on how the sages in India are also referred to as Xians in some translations of Hindu and Buddhist texts.

Re-read the Tangele retrieval scene now that Guénon was namedropped in FGO.
I was super brief about it in the summary because the lack of context made the scene pretty confusing, but it gets amazingly clear now that we know the main arrangement of Adventures.
Latio came in the Treasure Ship to awaken and retrieve Tangele, who spent all this time at the bottom of the safeguarding that incubator with symbol of the Guénon family/Gate of Storage. The assumption I might have put in the summary is that Latio was stealing an empty coffin from the Wandering Sea for some kind of ritual maybe, but now the situation is 100% evident. Latio came to get Ergo from Guénon's incubator, but when she got there, the incubator was empty, as Ergo came out and drifted away to the surface where he was found by Rin.
But it's curious that Guénon in FGO is the one who empathizes with Sion's mission, considering that in Adventures he's going as far as keeping his apprentice in the dark to prevent Latio from winning. I guess the old man plays favorites with the Six Sources.
So is Guénon Ruo's mentor?
That's the logical conclusion of Ergo being initially in a pod with their family symbol. I guess there is the possibility that the Baldanders Gates are all close-knit and sharing with their research so the mentor could easily ask the Gate of Storage to store a guy, but that's a bit of a stretch.
Somehow, Rene Guenon being part of the Baldanders makes sense.

So, Sanda made a tweet thread about the announcement, he apologize this doesn't come out on the new years winter Comiket but has two good reasons for it, first while in the middle of writing it his father collapse and got hospitalized and second this will be the biggest book lengthwise in the entire series (Case Files included)
