So I've been playing this recently...

Well I can probably still complete the game with my +15 katana. Wish I knew you could unaggro NPCs but oh well only lost like half of my smithing capacity. Oh to make it worse I farmed 9 large taitanite to get a +10 spear... After finding out what the Dragon slayer spear is, it probably wouldn't have helped me much as my faith is still low and I don't think I have high enough strength. Because the +15 iato has A scaling with dex, I can just keep upping my dex stat to get more damage.

Lobos did one of those. He did it entirely no-roll, no-block. DS2, don't know if he did it for DS1.

Probably not like you saw in DS2, no. There are weapons that switch to two weapons when you press the button to two-hand them (the Legion Scimitars, for example), but I don't think there's an outright swing-two-separate-weapons-stance thing.

How so

Took more than 200% the stamina of a swing, and often did less than 200% of the damage of a swing.

And if you wanted serious damage you just two-handed one weapon, it was a lot more handy and you only had to upgrade one.

I dunno. Play a character. Give them likes and dislikes, weapons and abilities they'd just plain refuse to use- a mage who wouldn't touch dark magic if their life depended on it, for example, or some noble snob from Carim who, being a noble, always wears the silver & gold serpent rings and wouldn't touch a weapon that his local nobility would see as brutish or inelegant.

Or cosplay as a character from the series (or a series you like), use their weapon, use armour that looks like theirs, et cetera. Use your imagination, the possibilities are endless!

Yeah the weapons that transform into 2 sounds good, having free dual wielding between 2 weapons would probably feel clunky if the game is going for more involved and dynamic combat animations.
