Mostly been playing Witch Queen on D2. The campaign was very good. And actually as advertised, much harder with a full fireteam. Trying to run Wellspring with randoms at Master was pretty ball clenching even with how they revitalized void subclasses.

I had some extra time over the Easter long weekend, so I installed the free trial of Final Fantasy 14. I hear all good MMOs are basically crack, so I wonder how this will turn out with my compulsive side questing in normal RPGS. Worst case, I'll be the most overleveled White Mage around.

Oh, so this is why Healers are always stereotyped as being pissed off. My very first dungeon and the tank ran too far ahead for me to heal them and while I was trying to resurrect them the rest of the team died.

Finally dived into "Triangle Strategy".

I'm like five hours in so far and I'm loving it. For my first playthrough I'm playing Serenoa as the total paladin-esque character in the choices. Only thing I don't really care for is the ENG dub so thankfully they have the option to change it. Also I kinda suck as "Final Fantasy Tactics" is so engrained into me that I keep trying to use strategies from that game when the gameplay is different enough that I keep screwing up.

Going through the main story of FF14 as a healer makes so many scenes way darker than they should be. You come across a friendly group slaughtered by the enemy while you're away, with only a few clinging to life to deliver a final message? Just watch them die, and don't even try to heal or raise them at all. I guess they just weren't worth that 5 second cast time and quarter of an MP bar that refills in about the same amount of time.

It gets even dumber when you're in a combat cutscene so you... draw your book menacingly.

Okay, I'm through Realm Reborn now. Only three levels over the recommended. I might get to the end of Heavensward without needing to switch classes. Damn was that a boss rush at the end. Turns out it was a mech all along, and we all know who wins in a fight between a doomsday mech and a single fighter on foot. Got to say though, all these one on one battles feels a bit bland when my healer only has a Dot, and AoE and one other attack. The flip side is that I'm a cockroach and just keep healing myself the minute I drop health. Had to laugh at the might makes right villain's dying words about why since I'm so strong why don't I seize power. I'm a healer bro, the only thing i can conquer is bruises. And occasionally death. This end theme is a bop.
